Season 1 of Blue Lock covered half of the currently published manga source, which means the second season will most likely adapt volumes 12-23. At the end of Blue Lock Season 1, Kunigami failed to make it through the Second Selection, leaving Isagi bereft of his closest friend.

Season 2 can be expected to address the aftermath of Kunigami’s exit from the project, and how Isagi deals with it. After the events of Blue Lock Season 1, the core players are expected to advance to the Third Selection round. Consequently, the top 35 players must compete to form a team of eleven and eventually compete against Japan’s national Under 20 team.

Following the ‘U-20’ arc, the events in the manga get much wilder, with Ego having much bigger plans to test the abilities of his players, which includes a massive international, televised tournament.
