Mia Goth walks past Scarlett Johansson to enter the Elite Club

British actress Mia Goth gained recognition for starring in movies including The Survivalist, High Life, and Emma. The actress became a household name when she starred in the X-slasher films X and Pearl. Her exceptional acting in X and Pearl established her as a scream queen, and now she is back as Maxine for the third installment of the franchise.

The movie follows Goth as an adult film star and aspiring actress, Maxine Minx, who finally gets her much-awaited big break in 1980s Hollywood. But the aspiring actress becomes the target of a killer who stalks the starlets of Hollywood. What follows is a trail of blood that threatens to reveal her sinister past. Mia Goth shared about the movie with Variety in January;

It’s the biggest story of the three with the highest stakes, and Maxine has gone through so much at this point. So when we find her in this new world, she’s just a force to be reckoned with, and she goes through some pretty wild adventures.

Following the movie’s premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre, it has received an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while X holds about a 94% rating along with a 76% rating from the audience. X’s prequel, Pearl, holds a 92% rating with an 83% audience rating. These ratings will likely allow the actress to enter the Elite Club of Actresses, which is when an actress leads a franchise.

Jennifer Lopez, Kristen Stewart, Gal Gadot, Angelina Jolie, Anna Faris, and more are some of the actresses who have led successful movie franchises. Surprisingly, Scarlett Johansson, who has been a part of various Marvel movies, is not a part of the Elite Club, as she was a part of the ensemble cast and played a significant role in them but did not lead any of the movies.

On the contrary, fellow co-actress Brie Larson, who led three Captain Marvel movies, is a part of the club. The critics have appreciated Mia Goth for her performance in MaXXXine, as one wrote, (via Horror Buzz)

Actor Wesley Snipes, who played the role of Blade in the 1998 movie followed by its two sequels, recently poked fun at the constant delays from Marvel Studios’ end for the reboot. He took to social media and wrote,

Blade, lordylordylordy. Folks still looking for the secret sauce, riding snowmobiles in traffic, is kinda rough. Daywalkers make it look easy, don’t they?
