Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy, was one of the summer’s most anticipated films, clashing with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Both films’ global success has demonstrated that audiences value good cinema, which these films were able to give.

Oppenheimer is based on Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin’s 2005 novel American Prometheus, which tells the life story of American theoretical physicist Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer and his involvement in the Manhattan Project during WWII. The film also depicts his eventual fall from grace as a result of his 1954 security hearing; Robert Oppenheimer was called the Father of the Atomic Bomb.

Christopher Nolan explains why some dialogues in Oppenheimer are inaudible

Director Christopher Nolan and actor Cillian Murphy, along with Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, etc., delivered an exceptional movie, Oppenheimer, which was not only appreciated by the audience but also by the critics. Some of them noted that this movie can be regarded as both Nolan and Murphy’s best work to date.

But then, recently, the director was asked about one issue that people have faced while watching his movie, i.e., some dialogues are inaudible. The filmmaker said that he is aware of the issue and explained that the issue comes from a combination of reasons including his preference for filming on IMAX cameras. The massive cameras are not soundproofed in the same way that standard film cameras are, which can cause the noise generated by the motors inside the camera to compromise the audio.

The inaudible issue could also be solved with actors dubbing their lines in a studio to provide greater clarity, but the filmmaker does not like it. He explained,

“I like to use the performance that was given in the moment rather than the actor revoice it later. It is an artistic choice that some people disagree with, and that’s their right.”

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer surpassed Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible 7

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Oppenheimer has passed the $500M figure worldwide and has surpassed Tom Cruise‘s recent release Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One‘s collection, which was near about $450M.

Fans have also expressed their views on the same with some of them saying that watching Oppenheimer is an experience everyone should have. A user tweeted, “At this rate, it might pass Interstellar”, whereas another user had a similar emotion, tweeting, “$1billion soon”.

Another Twitter user mentioned, “A 3 hour long biopic, it’s rated R and still making the bang both literally and figuratively!!” A user on the internet went ahead to describe how Cinema wins, “Internet and obscure woke media tried to convince us the movie is “Boring” “Just talking” and “too long” yet audiences worldwide seems to disagree. Cinema won.”

Good movie. It is very intense at points in the film and it didn’t feel like a 3 hour film. Nolan is establishing himself as the best director going today”, a user noted, with another one adding, “the power of Christopher Nolan is truly unreal. An R-rated Historical Drama performing on the same level or even better than- big-budget action blockbuster & superhero movie is truly amazing & its still going strong

Cillian Murphy on why the audience will never see Oppenheimer’s deleted scenes

Oppenheimer is a phenomenon of cinema, and although the movie is said to be 3 hours long, it doesn’t appear to be, but since it is, fans pointed out and questioned the director and actors about the deleted scenes from the final edit of the movie.

Now, Murphy has admitted that there would be no deleted scenes in the movie, as there was nothing taken out of the movie because the filmmaker is so clear and precise about what he wants in the movie that he leaves nothing on the cutting room floor.

He said,

“There are no deleted scenes in Chris Nolan movies. That’s why there are no DVD extras in his movies, because the script is the movie. He knows exactly what’s going to end up– he’s not fiddling around with it trying to change the story. That is the movie.”

Nolan had previously explained that there are very few deleted scenes in his movies which always disappoint the DVD crowd.

Oppenheimer is playing in theatres.
