Deadpool and Wolverine trailer became the most-viewed trailer of all time in its first 24 hours, and it keeps on increasing. In a fleeting scene from the trailer, we can see Wolverine wearing a white blazer, at a place that looks like a casino setting. Now this is enough to speculate about Patch, as he’s known for the iconic white blazer and eye patch when he’s out to carry vigilante justice in Madripoor.

Now that everyone’s talking about Wolverine’s alter-ego character, another big question is, who will play Patch? Well, this hasn’t been confirmed but it’s all over the internet that it’s either Daniel Radcliffe or Taron Egerton playing the variant in Deadpool 3.

Among the actors in question for playing Wolverine’s variant Patch, are Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe and Kingsman film series actor Taron Egerton. However, the potential arrival of the variant doesn’t mean Hugh Jackman isn’t playing Wolverine, it’s just speculation about his alter-ego, known for operating and carrying out vigilante justice in Madripoor. What generated these claims is the trailer, which shows Wolverine sitting in a casino-like place, in a white jacket.

The fictional island Madripoor holds significance in the X-Men storylines in Marvel Comics, and because most of the mutants reside there. It is the same island from where Sam Wilson was brought in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, introducing Madripoor to the MCU. And now that the island is already established, there are chances for Patch’s introduction.

The Deadpool 3 trailer shows Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool in a Casino, where he comes across a character sitting at a game table. The haircut and white blazer hint at Patch, but it’s still unclear if that’s actually Wolverine’s alter-ego or him.

Daniel Radcliffe has a history with MCU casting rumors. But every time the actor was asked if he was playing Wolverine, Radcliffe made sure to debunk the rumors. Soon after Disney acquired Marvel, fans started discussing the Imperium star’s debut in the superhero world.

Despite notable fan-casting, Daniel Radcliffe never fueled the rumors and instead clarified that he has no connection to the MCU. During a lie detector test with Vanity Fair, the actor said:

“I got buff because I am obsessive, and I want to…you’ve seen my parents, they’re like insane fitness people. So that’s just been passed on…but no, no Wolverine. Flattered, but no.”

Even Taron Egerton denied the rumors of his casting as Wolverine, and explained that he’s “too old for it now”. So, if both the actors have no connection with the variant, then who’s playing Patch? Maybe they don’t want to spoil the excitement of finding the truth, and if Deadpool 3 introduces Patch, the character would likely add more fun to the movie.

Deadpool and Wolverine will come out on July 26.
