It is not possible to always have a mood for all the blood and murder films that usually comes along with an adult and serious whodunit. Sometimes, one just wishes to sit down with his/her family and guess all the clues that the lead actor misses before the final reveal.

Well, if one is looking out for such a PG mystery movie, this is the right place. Whether it is an adult adventurer or kid detective, there are quite a several mystery movies out there. With that being said, these are the three out of many best PG mystery movies of all time –

National Treasure

In National Treasure, audiences meet with adventurer and archeologist Benjamin Franklin Gates, a man from the line of treasure hunting. Gates’ family has sought a fabled and ancient treasure that was found by Crusaders and then hidden by the Freemasons and Knights Templar. But through some legit sources, the Freemasons already had some clues to its location, which means Ben have to break into one of the most prominent and secure locations to complete the gold quest. Apart from all the logical leaps, the film has got a lot of fun to offer, which makes it quite crowd-pleasing as well.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit

It was perhaps a historic movie when it showed up in 1988. Who Framed Roger Rabbit was not only a live animation and action movie, but it also made the host of every other cartoon character come together on screen. Viewers could see Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny skydiving together, Donald Duck and Daffy Duck playing piano, and Felix the Cat, Betty Boop, and Mickey Mouse communicating with each other. However, it was quite an unprecedented move for the makers to get the license of all the characters from Universal and Warner Bros. But ultimately, it paid off hugely and satisfyingly.

Nancy Drew

If one is looking out to watch a family-friendly mystery, Nancy Drew could be a smart choice. Starring Emma Roberts as the amateur detective, the film acts as a significant introduction to the franchise for children who are quite unfamiliar with the concept of long-running book series.

The film sees a 1950’s-looking teen moving to the big city in a 2007 world, which makes her look, pretty much unique and charming. She moves into a house that has been a site of an unsolved murder mystery of a Hollywood starlet. As a result, Nancy thrives to solve the long-forgotten murder mystery. After figuring out some clues from the actress’ past films, Nancy starts interrogating and talking to the neighbors to collect some evidence.

Nancy Drew is a great PG mystery story that has everything, from the usual kid-caper hijinx, some young romance, and crime-solving as well.
