4 Different Beatles Movies Following Each Member in the Works with James Bond Director
Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes is all set to make four different fiction films, each focusing on members of the iconic band The Beatles. From record-breaking sales to their limitless legacy, each band member was incredibly lauded by fans.
Now, the director will craft four intriguing films to remember their legacy and shed life on their connected lives. Also, this is the first time the right holders and family members of The Beatles have agreed on their full life story for a scripted film. Unfortunately, the two former members John Lennon and George Harrison have passed away, but the makers have support from their families along with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
Sam Mendes Will Make Four Different Movies Focusing on Each Member of The Beatles
Among the iconic and most lauded rock bands, is the 1960s The Beatles, from making some of the best songs to making a cultural impact, the band received immense recognition. However, there hasn’t been a fiction movie yet, that follows the band members’ connected lives and covers the full story. To make this happen, James Bond director Sam Mendes announced that he’s ready to craft four separate films.

The Beatles had Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, John Lennon, and George Harrison, and the four movies will focus on each former member of the band. According to Variety, the family members of Lennon and Harrison have agreed to the upcoming films, and since the remaining two iconic figures are still with us, they have also blessed the project.

The American Beauty filmmaker shared his excitement and gratitude to have been involved in these movies as director and said:
“I’m honored to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies.”
Mendes shared that the four films will come out in 2027, and feature the interconnected lives of the bandmembers from their point of view. Not much has been shared since the announcement is fresh, but according to the acclaimed director’s words, the upcoming films will be “innovative and groundbreaking”. Especially when fans have never seen the full life story of each member.
Who Are The Cast Members in Sam Mendes’ Upcoming Four Films About The Beatles?
Another notable detail that might be making fans excited, is the cast members of the four films. Currently, there has been no disclosure of the cast members, and who will play the titular roles. And since the global theatrical release is set for 2027, there’s a lot of time for makers to finalize the cast members.
Sam Mendes will also serve as the producer of the films, alongside his Neal Street Productions partner Pippa Harris, and Neal Street’s Julie Pastor. While acknowledging the uniqueness of the upcoming films, Harris mentioned:
“We intend this to be a uniquely thrilling, and epic cinematic experience: four films, told from four different perspectives which tell a single story about the most celebrated band of all time.”
Since The Beatles was undeniably one of the most legendary bands, with talented band members, it’s a privilege for the makers to be able to craft not just one, but four separate films. There have been previous documentaries and projects inspired by the band’s songs, but nothing will look like what Sam Mendes is creating.
