5 Facts Every Anime Fan Should Know Before Watching Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest
Fairy Tail anime is finally returning with a new season this July 2024. If you don’t know, this arc is based on a manga with a similar title, which was written back by Hiro Mashima in 2018. And after 6 years, J.C. staff has finally animated it.
The last episode of Fairy Tail we saw was back on September 29, 2019. So, since it has been a long time since Fairy Tail anime was last aired, we will be going through some facts that will help you understand Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest a bit better.
5. Meaning Behind the Title, 100 Years Quest
The whole theme of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest is about a mission named Hundred Years Quest. There wasn’t anyone capable enough in the Kingdom of Fiore to do this mission. So, it was passed along to the Fairy Tail guild, aka Natsu’s guild, to handle it.

In this mission, Natsu and his friends have to get ahold of five Great Dragon Gods. What makes this mission so difficult is that no one has ever lived who chose to do this mission. So, Natsu and his friends set on an adventure to capture those dragon gods.
4. Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Features the Biggest Dragon Ever Seen
Throughout the anime, we have seen many large dragons like Acnologia and Igneel, but no one ever came close to the size of this new dragon, Aldoron. Not only Aldoron but all five Great Dragon Gods are larger than what has been shown in the anime.
Aldoron is now the biggest dragon shown in the Fairy Tail. The fact that villages are situated on his hand and even on some parts of his body, shows of big he is. After settling down on the ground, Aldoron becomes one with it.
3. Introduction of New Magic
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest features a new type of magic, white magic. This magic is been used by a new character, Touka. She is one of the antagonists that we will see in this new season.
Touka has some grudge against the Fairy Tail guild. So, she acts like a fan girl of Natsu to get into the guild, only to later show her true intentions. By using white magic, Touka can block the magical abilities of the user she hits.
Even the mighty Erza can’t do anything about it. The main danger of this power is that the one hit by white magic becomes Touka’s assistant whether he/she likes it or not.
2. Introduction of a New Guild and Also the First One to Exist
Alongside a new magic, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest also introduces a new guild, Magia Dragon. There are many guilds in the story, but neither of them are first guild to ever exist. Even the famous and strongest Fairy Tail guild is not one of them.
In fact, the first guild is the Magia Dragon Guild, which was formed in late x633. The motto behind creating this guild was to gather wizards to protect others in need.
1. Revealing a New Continent
After falling short of location in Fairy Tail world, Hiro Mashima (mangaka of Fairy Tail) decided to extend the map of his world, as Fairy Tail features quite a few numbers of continents, which are marked on the map, and mostly every one of them has been shown in the story so far.

So, a new continent is introduced in the story which was never a part of the map of Fairy Tail World, Guiltina. Guiltina is located in the north of Ishgar, and this is where the most of story of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest will take place.
