5 Times The Avengers Were Villains
The Marvel Cinematic Universe features an endless array of superheroes, but what if some of these characters are actually villains? What if deep down these superheroes really don’t care about protecting people or even Earth itself? It seems that after everything is said and done, the devilish half of each superhero may be the one triumphantly walking away with the doomsday device. Is it worth saying that most villainous MCU heroes are mostly found in the Captain America and Guardians Of The Galaxy film series? With that being said, these are the 5 Avengers who could actually be the villain from inside –
The Hulk
Calm at first, the Hulk (also known as Bruce Banner) is a good man that does not like violence. But once he becomes enraged, he will use his brute force to try and eliminate whatever gave him reason to become angry in the first place. If a large cat were to provoke him in the woods, for example, one could only assume that he’d be furious by all means necessary with his powers. This should serve as a fair warning to anyone who wishes to mess with him, or even his friends on the Avengers team.
Doctor Strange
It’s always a terrifying thought when someone can open portals to other dimensions. Benedict Cumberbatch‘s performance of Stephen Strange in Doctor Strange was phenomenal, and his powers were truly something remarkable. Imagine if Spider-Man were to cause Doctor Strange to reevaluate his role as a hero using nothing but his wit, cunning, and web-slinging prowess? Only imagine the chaos that could ensue under a megalomaniac like Doctor Strange! But don’t worry – even though he did underestimate Spider-Man, fortunately for all humanity this hasn’t happened because with abilities like these there is no telling what kind of damage he could wreak upon this world with an attitude like that.
Thena
While Angelina Jolie isn’t some sort of villain in Eternals she still shares a common struggle with the rest of her team. She often feels as though she has to make difficult decisions with dire consequences, and sometimes those choices can push her over the edge. Sometimes you have to make tough choices, but knowing that you are making the right decision for someone else is enough.
Iron Man
Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, is the most intelligent and smartest member in the Marvel Universe. As much as he serves as a hero in this universe, Iron Man has also proven to be an influential force when it comes to politics and the ruling elite who sometimes worship him almost like a god. It’s not impossible to imagine that Stark could someday use his power to become the ultimate ruler over everyone else, just look at how thinly veiled his ambitious intentions were in Captain America: Civil War when he agreed that The Avengers needed new laws and political oversight to curtail their awesome power.
Black Widow
There is something about Scarlett Johansson that makes some of us not trust her. Yes, we know she’s a fantastic actress, but there’s something about her when she takes on a role as an undercover Russian agent that scares us— just a little. You see, we’re not sure exactly what side of the field she is playing for because when you look into her eyes and watch her do her stunts. We can tell that she isn’t taking one for the team.
