Not much has been known about the movie as of now except that it features a team of superhero vigilantes who are said to be not afraid to get their hands dirty. The Authority is reportedly DC’s answer to the show The Boys. Gunn said,

“I’ve been working really hard on it with the writers, we’re starting to put together the entire story. […] This is a big movie. […] I don’t know how many of you are familiar with the authority WildStorm characters. WildStorm was a comics imprint that was bought by DC that I really love. We’re moving a lot of these WildStorm characters into the DCU.”

3. The Brave and the Bold

The Brave and the Bold is DC Universe’s first Batman movie, which will be directed by Andy Muschetti, who recently directed The Flash, and Gunn is said to be serving as the executive behind the movie. DC Universe’s Batman movie will center on an older version of Bruce Wayne and the extended Bat Family who will be keeping the streets of Gotham City safe. When asked if there is someone who he has thought about playing the titular character, the director said it’s miles and miles away but clarified that George Clooney is not portraying the character as suggested by the fans.

4.  Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is said to have derived its title from Tom King’s beloved comic book of the same name and will be centered upon a different type of Supergirl, pointing out that this iteration of Kara Danvers is much more hardcore.

According to Gunn, the movie will explore a version of the character. He said, “Kara was in Krypton, she was on a piece of Krypton that drifted away from the planet and lived there for the first 14 years of her life in [a] horrible situation where she watched everybody around her die. So she’s a much harsher and more f**ked up Supergirl than we’ve been used to this far.”

5. Swamp Thing

Swamp Thing is said to be the last movie of Gunn and Safran’s initial DC Universe slate and will serve as the first true horror film in the universe. James Mangold will be writing and directing the movie which will investigate the dark origins of DC’s iconic elemental plant creature.

Mangold said, “While I’m sure DC views ‘Swamp Thing’ as a franchise, I would be viewing it as a very simple, clean, Gothic horror movie about this man/monster… [I’ve been] toying for years with the idea of making a kind of Frankenstein movie.”

7. The Batman Part 2 (Elseworlds)

Robert Pattinson starrer Matt Reeves’ The Batman will head for a sequel and an October 3, 2025 release. For now, the only information that is available about the movie is that it’s going to focus on Pattinson’s Dark Knight take on the villainous Clayface.

It should be noted that James Gunn and Safran are going to serve as the executive supervisors of the movie, which takes place in Reeves’ Bat-verse, which exists outside the CEOs’ DC Universe. Fans have been excited to see how the sequel is going to turn out in DC Studios’ Elseworlds.

8. Wonder Woman 3 (Maybe)

But now, according to reports, DC Studios currently do not have any plans to develop Wonder Woman 3 in their DC Universe. So the movie tends to fall under maybe the category of the DC Universe’s upcoming movie.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom starring Jason Momoa might have been filmed before Gunn and Safran took over the reins at the DC Studios, but according to reports, James Gunn has been involved in the reshoots which include multiple cameos coming in and out of the movie, which is technically the send-off movie of the DCEU.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom comes to theaters on December 25.
