Actress and television personality Denise Richards rose to fame after she starred in Starship Troopers in 1997, followed by a role in the thriller film Wild Things, for which she received a positive response. Richards also appeared in a James Bond movie, The World Is Not Enough, and even though her performance was criticized, it helped her to get a wider audience reach.
After being a part of some of the widely celebrated movies, Richards decided to appear in the reality show Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from 2019 to 2020 and then from 2023 to 2024. As the name suggests, the reality show centered on the personal and professional lives of women who live in or near Beverly Hills. The television personality recalled her first season of filming the reality show and how it was different from working in films.
Denise Richards reveals her first impression of working on RHOBH
Actress Denise Richards recently sat down with Bravo’s network producer Alex Baskin for his Hot Mic Podcast and revealed that when she joined RHOBH in season 9, she was both excited and nervous. The television personality shared that she felt both emotions because it was going to be something different from what she had been doing for a long time.
However, she acknowledged that she was accustomed to working in the realm of all things scripted, but the reality show was not scripted; hence, it made her nervous. Richards told Baskin that she viewed the iconic Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as an unscripted version of her parents’ favorite soap opera.
Denise Richards, who was an established actress when she decided to join the reality show, was acquainted with some of the other wives, including Kyle Richards, Camille Grammer, and Lisa Rinna. She described filming in The Bahamas as ‘intimidating’ & ‘daunting.’
Alex Baskin reminded Denise Richards about one thing from the trip:
One of my favorite small stories from that trip is, I remember at one point, you had asked the crew—we’re in the middle of filming—and you’re like, ‘Where’s craft services?’
To which Richards laughed and told Baskin that Lisa Rinna told her about that, and at the time she thought Rinna was joking. Denise Richards, who was making a shift from movies to reality shows, believed that there was going to be some sort of craft service. However, she was later told that it was an unconventional commodity when filming a reality show.
Alex Baskin also reminded the actress that she had joined the show with zero interest in dressing up, which is not expected from the housewives filming a reality show.
The housewives were encouraged by the crew to dress up nice like they do in real life, but many of them don’t. But looking at the other housewives dressed up all nice and shiny, Richards realized that casual dressing might not work for her.
Charlie Sheen makes a cameo in Denise Richards’ reality show Denise Richards & Her Wild Things
Denise Richards is gearing up for her upcoming reality show, Denise Richards and Her Wild Things. The show is going to be centered around her current life with her husband Aaron Phypers and her three kids.
During her conversation with Alex Baskin on an episode of Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast, Richards revealed that her ex-husband and actor Charlie Sheen will also appear on the show.

The reality TV star shared,
Nobody has ever seen Charlie and me after our divorce sitting in a room talking. I think that’s one of the things that I love—that we were able to capture having that moment of sharing that.
Despite their relationship having a sad ending, Richards noted that they need to find humor in it and laugh at it. She added that they still joke around with each other, and they do have a sense of humor, especially about the things they went through together.
The actress also revealed while talking to People that after Charlie Sheen saw the trailer for her upcoming show, he sent her a text with a positive note. She said she was surprised, but it meant a lot to her. Richards also shared that her former RHOBH cast members, including Garcelle Beauvais, Sutton Stracke, Erika Jayne, and Camille Grammer, will also appear on her show.
Describing Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, the actress said that it’s another crazy chapter of her life, adding that it’s never calm ever. The reality show is set to premiere on March 4, 2025, on Bravo.
