A Quiet Place: Day One’s Amazing Nod to Emily Blunt’s $297 Million Horror Film is the Hype Every Fan of the OG John Krasinski Franchise Needs Right Now
A Quiet Place: Day One, the spin-off prequel to A Quiet Place, has hit theaters. The spin-off movie follows the story of a terminally ill woman during the early days of an invasion in New York City, initiated by blind extraterrestrial creatures who have an acute sense of hearing.
The sequel, A Quiet Place Part II, earned nearly $300 million globally, and its prequel recorded almost $5 million in previews, which serves as a preview record for the franchise. The prequel is not only about escaping an alien invasion, but also dives deep into a character’s story.
What does A Quiet Place: Day One has store in for you?
The prequel is much more than escaping an alien invasion. This time, its director, Michael Sarnoski, has tied a very important character’s story from A Quiet Place Part II with the prequel. The movie shows the back story of one of its main protagonists, Henri (played by Djimon Hounsou) who is a leader and a protective father who must protect his son.

Director Sarnoski has used Henri’s story as a bit of a foil in the movie and thought that it would give his character a little extra backstory, which would structure his character even more. According to the source:
I really wanted to work with Djimon Hounsou because he’s an incredible actor and is really easy to work with.
According to Sarnoski, it was John Krasinski’s idea to make a prequel set in New York City. The backstory not only expands the narrative, but also deepens the connection between the franchise universes.
An amazing nod to $297 Million Horror Film
The prequel serves as an amazing nod to Emily Blunt’s $297 million horror film. Fans, thus far, call it the best horror film in the whole franchise, as it serves a chilling and emotional plot.
A Quiet Place: Day One is absolutely fantastic. A terrifying apocalpyse story laced with real humanity.
