“A trip with your kids is NOT a vacation”: Kelly Ripa Hated Going on Trips With Her Own Children, Desperately Wanted Her Own Space Back
On her recent visit to Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show, the actress Kelly Ripa reminded everyone that a trip with kids is not actually a vacation. Kelly Ripa, who is an actress and a morning talk show host, is married to actor Mark Consuelos for over two decades now. The couple shares three children– Lola Consuelos, Joaquin Consuelos, and Michael Consuelos, who are all young adults now. But a parent is never off duty, and they will never stop worrying about their kids.
Thus, Ripa shared her experience of a family trip yet again to reiterate how tough being a parent is.
Kelly Ripa’s mini trip to the Turks and Caicos
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos very rarely travel by themselves. And she regrets that from time to time. Although their children are all grown up, she states,
“when you’re on a trip with your kids it is just that, it is a trip not a vacation”
New York is freezing this time of the month. As the actress stated in the interview with Jimmy Kimmel, it was “eleventeen degrees below zero”. And the family got a long weekend to themselves on the President’s weekend to get away from the cold. Therefore, the Turks and Caicos seemed like the perfect choice to blow off steam.
Ripa then said how unusual it was for her to get those days off. As it happens, sometimes a celebrity could not make it to the taping of Live! with Kelly and Ryan and thus, Ripa got a mini vacation. And she was glad they did, as multiple people warned her about the New York cold and how fatal it felt.
Kelly Ripa’s stressful family trips
The short trip to Turks and Caicos was “amazing” and her friends too were urging her to not come back to the cold New York City. The kids had an amazing time too. As she stated, they were off doing their own thing but she had to stay on top of them 24/7 to check what they are up to. The job of being a parent is exhausting. Prior to this, in 2018 Ripa posted a hilarious Instagram post stating how hard it is to have fun, when kids tag along on the trips. Her deadpan expression says it all.
The hilarious throwback post was relatable to thousands of mothers that followed her on the gram. Whereas, Mark Consuelos simply replied with a facepalm emoji in the comments section. All in all these trips are the ones she cherishes and is grateful for the most. Even though her kids “bust her ba*ls from morning to night”, she wouldn’t miss it or replace it for anything else. She loves being an on-duty mother.
