The Irish actor well known for his role in ‘Peaky Blinder’ has praised the acting skills of his costar Robert Downey Jr. Talking about the movie and experience with his costar in a recent interview Cillian Murphy said “I mean, acting with him was was was was just extraordinary. He’s just electrifying, the most available engaged, present, unpredictably brilliant actor I’ve ever worked with.”
Murphy also revealed that most of his scenes with Downey Jr were improvised during the shoot. “A lot of the scenes I have with Downey, it was quite loose and quite improvisational,” he said.
Not only Murphy, but Downey Jr has also talked about his costar in his recent interview with People magazine. Praising Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr said: “I have never witnessed a greater sacrifice by a lead actor in my career”.
“He knew it was going to be a behemoth ask when [Nolan] called him. But I think he also had the humility that is required to survive playing a role like this.”
Demonstrating Murphy’s devotion, Downey Jr recalled: “We’d be like, ‘Hey, we got a three-day weekend. Maybe we’ll go antiquing in Santa Fe. What are you going to do?’ ‘Oh, I have to learn 30,000 words of Dutch. Have a nice time.’ But that’s the nature of the ask.”
Even before the release of ‘Oppenheimer’ both actors have been trading compliments across the press for each other.

Directed by Christopher Nolan, ‘Oppenheimer’ is centered on the titular theoretical physicist also known as the “father of the atomic bomb” for developing the first nuclear weapons which were used in the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. Cillian Murphy as a lead act plays the characters of J Robert Oppenheimer itself. Whereas on the other hand, Robert Downey Jr is playing the supporting character of Lewis Strauss, a businessman, philanthropist, and naval officer who severed two terms on the US Atomic Energy Commission. Both actors have been very profound with their acting in each of their roles making the movie one of the biggest hits.
With one of the most iconic stars sharing the screen ‘Oppenheimer’ has gained attention and love from its audience. The movie was released worldwide on the 21st of July and since then the theaters are filled to their capacity. The film made $50 million on its opening and as of Sunday, it has made the business of $80.5 million domestically with an addition of $93.7 million internationally.
