Actors Who Were Cast In Different Roles Than They Auditioned For
Auditions might not always go the way actors wanted them to go but at times, everything works out for the better. And that has been the case for many actors who ended up being cast in a role different from the one they auditioned for.
Here are the actors who ended up in different roles:
1. Tom Felton
Harry Potter’s Malfoy aka Tom Felton had auditioned for the roles of Harry and Ron Weasley before he ended up playing Draco Malfoy. He was thankful that he got to play Draco and would have been a “very different individual” had he played Harry or Ron.
2. Jackson Rathbone
You won’t believe this!! Jackson got pretty close to landing the role of Edward Cullen before Robert Pattinson was given the role. He was then cast as Jasper Hale. But he said that Robert was perfect for the role of Edward! Well, we all agree with you on that one Jackson.
3. Miley Cyrus – Actors Hannah Montana
Guess what! Miley Cyrus was not “supposed” to be Hannah Montana! She had auditioned for the role of Hannah’s BFF aka Lilly Truscott. But the team at Disney asked her to audition tape for the lead role.
4. John Krasinski
John Krasinski was supposed to audition for the role of Dwight Schrute on “The Office”. But since he had watched the British version of The Office, he felt he wasn’t right for the role. He went the extra mile to convince the casting directors he should audition for Jim Halpert. The team said no in the beginning but then eventually gave in.
5. Chadwick Boseman
Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman had auditioned for the role of Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy but luckily didn’t get the part. Sarah Finn (casting director) saw the potential in him to play a much more important role in the MCU. And that’s how we got our beloved Black Panther.
6. Lindsay Lohan
Mean Girls would have had Lindsay Lohan as Regina George. She loved the character and was excited about the prospect of the role. But they couldn’t find any actress who was strong enough to go against her and everyone was used to seeing Lindsay play the hero.
