After Decimating Records With Chris Evans in ‘The Gray Man’, Ryan Gosling All Set to Rock the Action World Again With Emily Blunt in ‘The Fall Guy’
After starring in The Gray Man with Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling is ready to come up with a number of new movies. The Gray Man has left quite the impression on the audience but one thing that leaves no doubt is that the actor played the role at his best. With the announcement of a sequel to the movie, Gosling is sure to get busy with the sequel along with the other movies.
The upcoming movies starring Gosling includes movies like Barbie and the remake of the 2010 film Wolfman. Ryan Gosling is also starring in a movie inspired by an 80s TV series of the same name. The cast of the stuntman action drama includes Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in the lead and is directed by David Leitch. Emily Blunt is the latest person to join the cast.
The Release Date of The Fall Guy
The movie is scheduled to open exclusively in theaters on March 1, 2024, before its release on the home media market. The movie can also see some tough competition as March 2024 is booked with the release of multiple movies including A Quiet Place: Day One, the sequel to Godzilla vs Kong, and the animated Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse.
As for The Fall Guy, the movie is distributed by Universal, it can be available for the subscribers of Peacock TV amid its release.
Ryan Gosling to Play the Lead in The Fall Guy
The details and plot of the movie are not revealed, but taking into consideration the cast announced so far, Ryan Gosling can play the role of Colt Seavers the stunt man, played by Lee Majors in the original TV series. Emily Blunt is supposed to star opposite Ryan Gosling and may play the role of his fellow stunt woman Jody Banks, played by Heather Thomas in the original TV series.
The rest of the cast is not announced yet. Cast for the role of Howie Munson, Samantha Jack, and Terri Shannon played respectively by Douglas Barr, Jo Ann Pflug, and Marlie Post is not revealed yet.
The director of the movie David Leitch is also popular for his work in Deadpool 2 and the most recent movie Bullet Train starring Brad Pitt. The movie’s production crew includes Drew Pearce, who worked with Leitch as the executive producer and also wrote the script for Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
Other than Pearce, the creator of the original The Fall Guy series, Glen A Larson will also be working as the executive producer for the movie.
The Fall Guy: Television Series
The 1980s show The Fall Guy was created by Glen A Larson. The television series follows Colt Seavers who worked as a Hollywood stuntman to make his ends meet and has a side hustle as a bounty hunter. With his physical skills and stunt effect knowledge, he catches fugitives and criminals accompanied by his cousin and stuntman-in-training Howie Munson and sometimes with his fellow stunt woman Jody Banks. The show aired for 5 seasons from 1981 to 1986.
It has earlier also been adapted for games and comic book adaptations. The series was first adapted as a board game by the Milton Bradley company in 1981. Later Jamie Baikie adapted it as a comic strip for Look-in magazine. Lastly, British video game developers Elite Systems adapted the series for a video game in 1984.
