Aubrey Plaza says fans should ‘get ready and buckle up‘ for Agatha All Along
Marvel Studios’ one of the most anticipated shows, Agatha All Along, starring Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza, Sasheer Zamata, Patti LuPone, and more, is set to premiere on Disney+. Ahead of the release, Plaza was asked during an interview with DC Film Girl about the nature of her character Rio Vidal with Hahn’s Agatha Harkness, to which she said,
I can just say that Rio is a witch, which is a new thing that we’ve come up with. I cannot say much, but my character and Kathryn Hahn’s character have a really long history that is very complicated and charged and all the things. So, I would say get ready and buckle up.
Kathryn Hahn is one of the finest actresses in the industry and after she starred in WandaVision, she became one of the breakout stars from the show. Fans and critics absolutely loved her performance on the show. Since the announcement of her spin-off series, ardent Marvel fans have been waiting to see the actress on-screen channeling the character they admired so much.
In her interview with Rolling Stone, the actress revealed how she felt about reuniting with Plaza as they worked together on Parks and Recreation, but didn’t really have many scenes together. She said that she, along with Plaza, Rashida Jones, and Amy Poehler, started to socialize and made a tradition of hanging out a couple of years after the show, and that quad became important. The actress added she was very excited to work with her former co-star because she’s never had a chance to work with her.
Upon asking what she learned about the actress while filming Agatha All Along, Hahn said,
She doesn’t take herself mad seriously, and she’s also willing to go to the sticky, darkest, most exploratory places, which is my dream as well. So it was so fun to do those scenes with her and just investigate with her. Between ‘action’ and ‘cut’ it just felt thick.
As excited as the two actresses are, Marvel fans are equally excited for them to appear together on screen. Now with Plaza teasing the romantic connection between the two, fans cannot wait to see how their chemistry rolls on-screen.
Agatha All Along executive producer Brad Winderbaum talks about Agatha Harkness’ future in the MCU
In a recent interview with ScreenRant, the executive producer Brad Winderbaum was asked about the future of the character in the MCU, to which he said,
When you have an icon like Kathryn Hahn and what she has brought to the screen with Agatha, you just want to see more of her. So yes, there will be more Agatha in the future of the MCU, yes. She is an episode of What If…? Season 3.
Winderbaum told the interviewer that he could not say anymore but that What If…? episode is one of his favorite episodes ever done, adding that it may involve a giant musical number. He mentioned that the actress is just incredible and everyone just wishes to see more of her.
In her interview with Rolling Stone, the actress was asked if she’d like to appear in the MCU crossover movies, to which she said that according to her, she’d only be asked if it was necessary and juicy. She added that the most craziest, perfect, side-door entrance to this world is to be a witch, and she loves it.
