Ahsoka Star Rosario Dawson, 44, is Going to be a Grandma
Rosario Dawson’s first professional acting role came in the TV series Sesame Street. It was followed by her feature film debut with the 1995 independent film Kids. Over the years, she has starred in many great movies such as The Rundown, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, and has even provided her voice for several Disney/ Marvel and Warner Bros./DC projects.
So far, Rosario Dawson has been a lot of things, an actress, a philanthropist, an advocate for some great causes, and a mother. Now, another feather cap has been added to her cap as she has recently announced that she is going to be a grandmother!
Rosario Dawson is Going to Be a Grandmother
Rosario Dawson has worked with some of the greatest Hollywood veterans such as Spike Lee in the 2002 drama 25th Hour, Steven Spielberg in the 2008 movie Eagle’s Eye, and Quentin Tarantino in 2007’s Death Proof. She has also appeared as the MCU character Claire Temple in the miniseries Daredevil.
Apart from all that she has achieved as an actress, Dawson is also a proud mother to a 21-year-old girl named Isabella, whom she adopted in 2014 when the girl was 12 years old. Earlier this week, in an interview with Page Six, her excitement led to a slip-up about the fact that she is going to be a grandmother in 2024.
Speaking of this new update in her personal life, the Rent actress told Page Six: “It’s very exciting.” She also went on to say that the baby is due next year and she is to be eagerly planning to be called a “Glamma”. In all the years that she has been a mother, she has done her best to keep her daughter out of the spotlight except for the one time that the mother-daughter duo appeared together on the red carpet in 2017.
Earlier, Dawson had revealed that she had not adopted her daughter Isabella from any adoption agency or center. She personally knew the girl’s biological mother so the actress sought her out from the foster home.
Rosario Dawson Encouraged Her Daughter to Become an Activist
Rosario Dawson has actively supported many charities such as the environmental group Global Cool, Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), and the International Rescue Committee. In August 2023, she hosted the SHISEIDO Blue Project’s third-annual West Coast beach clean-up with WSL One Ocean and WILDCOAST in Huntington Beach, California.

Having hailed from Coney Island, Dawson feels responsible for protecting the beaches so that everyone can enjoy their beauty like she did while growing up. In an interview with ET at the time, the Ahsoka star revealed how she encouraged her daughter to become an activist.
When Dawson’s daughter told her that she did not want to be on a podium like her mother, the actress explained to her that she could still do her part as an activist. Speaking of how the then 20-year-old girl helped with the cause, the Krystal actress said:
“She [Isabella] started drawing all of these really amazing posters around conservation and anti-violence and it was just powerful.”
It is good to learn that Dawson’s activism is not limited to herself as she also encourages other people including her family to do their part for such crucial and great causes.
