AI Recreates Chris Rock’s Point of View When Will Smith Slapped Him at the Oscars: “The beast of meme-making”
Normally people would not have remembered the G.I. Joe joke, directed at Jada Smith at the 2022 Oscars by the host Chris Rock. But her husband Will Smith made sure everybody did. Since then the story has been retold several times in many different ways, and everybody jumped in to share their perspective. So why should artificial intelligence bots remain silent? The AI bots can do wonders if the prompts given to them are meant to be. So it did.
People on the internet are shocked, to see what the comedian might have witnessed during the banter pre-slap. It also captures his point of view mid-slap. And the accuracy of the pictures is what scares the common folks.
AI’s take on the Chris Rock-Will Smith slap
No one can seem to move on from the Chris Rock–Will Smith slap incident at the 2022 Oscars. This is now a story that people will hear for millions of years. Although the slap was a shocking incident that brought up many important topics to the table to be discussed and forced people to reflect on their cruel reactions or the lack of them at the moment, it gave the internet what it wants the most. A meme-able moment.
Although Will Smith has now apologized a thousand times, Chris Rock has no interest in forgiving the man for his sins but rather wants to bank on the unfortunate event. Nobody can blame Rock for doing so since he is a comedian, and it should be a gold mine in sense of stand-up material for him, keeping the trauma and humiliation aside for a moment. Therefore, he decided to talk about it a week prior to the Oscars this year in his Netflix special, Selective Outrage. This year’s Oscars were also not subtle about the digs it took at the Emancipation star.
This slap was a significant moment for the meme culture as the number of memes made on the topic is absolutely insane. A Twitter user called Barsee, a self-proclaimed AI expert, shared the results of the experiments. And it absolutely not safe to try it at home because of how accurate and scary it looks, it can definitely send a chill down one’s spine.
Here is the Twitter thread,

The hyper-realism in the pictures really helps everybody to realize what horrors, Rock had to face moments before the disaster. As many people were stunned to witness what had happened on stage, people on the internet are now speechless after witnessing the power artificial intelligence holds.
People on the internet are scared
The stunt done by the Twitter handle, Barsee is surely not one to try at home and nobody is daring to do so either. Many shared their concerns regarding the technology’s intentions, while others asked the Twitter account not to waste its powers on meaningless things. Nonetheless, it got people talking just like it intended to.
Here are some tweets showcasing the reactions,
These celebrities need to sue these chums using their images to train AI generating programs because what's the meaning of this. Fucking weird https://t.co/Ez9jHWS2Gg

and just like that we’re at a point where the average person could be convinced that an ai generated photo is real https://t.co/z38xboZAW5

Damn stuff like this just always reminds why the 90’s/early 2000’s prolly the last good era cause the world we heading into with shit like this leading the way just spells for a reality where we won’t even know what’s real anymore https://t.co/3zClBMA0fD

The Midjourney AI is really a “The beast of meme-making” and these pictures are proof of it. If not familiar with the backstory of the situation, nearly anybody can mistake these photos captured by a GoPro at a real event in real-time, and there is no doubt about it. Although the infamous involving Chris Rock, Will Smith, and a slap made people deeply uncomfortable, this went a step further in the same direction.
