All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Release Timeline and Plot: Casts Who Are Expected to Return After Season 1’s Success
South Korean coming-of-age, zombie apocalypse horror series All of Us Are Dead centers around a group of high school students and their challenge to survive amidst the zombie outbreak. Season one of the series created by Chun Sung-ill, Lee Jae-kyoo, and Kim Nam-soo premiered on Netflix and recorded a viewership of approx. 560.78 million in just 28 days.
The series received positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience and hence was renewed for season two. The 12-episode series is based on the manhwa series; All of Us Are Dead written and illustrated by Joo Dong-geun. The fans have been excited for season two since the announcement. Lee Jae-kyoo hints at introducing a race of ‘more powerful and evolved zombies’ for All of Us Are Dead Season 2
2022’s South Korean zombie apocalypse horror series All of Us Are Dead was a massive success as it soared to the number one spot on Netflix’s US Daily Top 10 list. Ever since the show was renewed for season two, fans across the world have been waiting for the series to premiere.
According to Osen, director Lee Jae-kyoo shared a few details about what the audience can expect for season two. He said,
“In season 2, stronger and more evolved zombies will appear and the work will be set in the fallen Seoul. We are currently preparing for production and will come to you with a more interesting and spectacular drama, so please look forward to it.”
The director of All of Us Are Dead also spoke to the Korea Herald in 2022 and shared insights from the making of the show. He said,
“Many directions, settings and scenes were intentionally produced to expand the story into an additional season, including the introduction of the new races of zombies—immune and immortal. If first season can be seen as having presented humanity’s survival, the next season can talk about the survival of zombies. I hope to present viewers with another season.”
Netflix Korea announced season two with a poster and video on social media with a caption stating, ‘Can we survive again? The second story of Hyosan High School friends’ fierce zombie survival period begins.’ Nothing more about the plot of season two has been shared except the fact that it’s going to be more interesting than season one.

Who returns for All of Us Are Dead Season 2?
Season one of the show starred Cho Yi-hyun, Park Ji-hun, Im Jae-hyuk, Park Solomon, Ha Seung-ri, Bo-yoon, and Lee Eun-saem. All the characters who entered the quarantine zone towards the end of season one are expected to return for season two including Yoon Chan-young who played Cheong-san on the show. It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds his return on the show.
Upon talking about his character’s fate, Yoon shared with Soompi,
“I was actually asked about whether Cheong San died or not in another interview recently. To be honest, I don’t know. I haven’t heard about what happens next, and nothing has been decided yet. Personally I’d like to live. I’d like to be able to say things that I didn’t get to say.”

Cho Yi-hyun’s character somehow managed to retain her human-like qualities despite the zombie attack, which hints at a fresh perspective for, season two. Her character as a hybrid stands out as a crucial character for season two however his unrelenting craving for human flesh remains a central aspect.
The introduction of new characters for season two is kept under wraps for now. Season two of All of Us Are Dead which is expected to be different from season one is likely to premiere later this year or early 2025.
