One of the most closely followed celebrity court cases in recent memory was the defamation case involving Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard. In the eyes of millions of his fans, Depp was able to redeem himself after persuading a jury that Heard purposefully damaged his reputation. Heard, who portrays Mera in the Aquaman film, continued to draw harsh criticism from the Hollywood elite even after the trial was concluded.

Because she lost that case, her reputation might have suffered irreparable harm. The trial has reportedly impacted everything, including her professional life.

With James Gunn taking charge last year, there appeared to be a sudden and significant change in the direction of DC Films, TV, and Animation. For instance, there have been multiple changes and reshoots for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Some claim that Ben Affleck’s Batman played a significant role, and others claim that Amber Heard’s Mera was cut. Many people wanted the actress to leave because of the scandals she had been involved in.

The fan debate may have had an impact on James Gunn’s potential choice to end the series after the release of the second part of the movie.

Her DC character has emerged as a key talking point throughout the trial, and the controversy surrounding the actress comes as she gears up to make her comeback in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Potential $4 million Pay Loss for Amber Heard

According to reports, Amber Heard may have been anticipating earning $4 million for Aquaman 3. However, the actress may no longer have the opportunity to return to DC in the future due to backlash.

In a previous testimony at the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial, entertainment lawyer Richard Marks talked about the pay raise the actress would get for her role as Mera if she were to return for Aquaman 3. Heard’s contract, according to Marks, is a talent option contract, which means Warner Bros. can hire her for the third movie without giving her the chance to say no.

Potential $4 million Paycheck Loss for Amber Heard

The actress’s $4 million salary for Aquaman 3 was revealed by the attorney, a significant increase from the $2 million she was reportedly paid for Aquaman 2.

Hollywood actors often receive pay raises after committing a significant amount of time to a role, especially as their fame increases. Thus, it’s possible that $4 million was anticipated for Amber Heard’s salary for Aquaman 3. But taking into account the backlash against the actress, it might have cost her the opportunity to go back to DC in the future.

Will Aquaman 3 Feature Mera’s Return?

Amber Heard’s role in Aquaman 2 was reportedly reduced by Warner Bros., who also considered recasting the actress, as many fans had demanded. Given this, it seems unlikely that she will reprise her role as Mera in the trilogy’s third installment that is if there will be one.

According to reports, Heard’s character (Mera) and Jason Momoa’s character, ‘Arthur Curry’ will have a child in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. According to rumors, Mera’s pregnancy will keep Heard out of action for a sizable portion of the first movie, giving her a ten-minute screen time in the follow-up.

Heard reportedly lost between $45 and $50 million in endorsement deals, TV and film income, according to a witness from the entertainment industry who claimed that she had made up accusations of domestic abuse against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.
