Here is what the actress said about the war which caused her to lose her job and made her future prospects in the American film industry doubtful. These are the statements the actress made via Instagram stories (via  CNN):

“First and foremost I condemn antisemitism and Islamophobia. I condemn hate and prejudice of any kind against any group of people. As a Latina, a proud Mexicana, I feel the responsibility of having a platform that allows me the privilege of being heard, and therefore I have tried to use it to raise awareness about issues I care about and to lend my voice to those in need. Every person on this earth … deserves equal human rights, dignity, and, of course, freedom. I believe a group of people are NOT their leadership, and that no governing body should be above criticism.”

Melissa Barrera getting fired from Scream has led to public outrage on social networking sites like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram as more and more of her fans speak out in her support. At the same time, some fans have also pointed out Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp’s controversial gesture not so long ago. Barrera might have lost her job, but she has managed to gain the respect of millions of people.
