Andrew Garfield Was Almost Poisoned To Death By Elvis Presley’s Grandchild Riley Keough, Had To Shut Down the Whole Set For 24 Hours
Riley Keough is most famous for being the grandchild of the late Elvis Presley, one of the greatest performers of all time. It’s almost impossible for Keough or anyone else related to Presley for that matter to get out of his shadow. Still, the 34-year-old actress has done pretty well to carve out her own identity.
After the Presley tag, Keough is known for playing complex and mysterious characters that either end up embroiling themselves into trouble or their opposite lead.
In the case of The Girlfriend Experience, her character Christine Reade ends up risking her promising law career by sinking deep into the high-end escort business. While in Under the Silver Lake, her character Sarah’s mysterious persona leads Sam into the murkiest depths of scandal in Los Angeles. Turns out, behind the scenes too, her opposite cast Andrew Garfield almost found himself stuck in a serious issue because of her, albeit inadvertently.
How Riley Keough Almost Poisoned Andrew Garfield to Death
Riley Keough and Andrew Garfield joined hands in 2018 for the mystery comedy Under the Silver Lake. The movie that follows the story of enigmatic Sarah and Sam – who’s enchanted with her – didn’t work out at the box office but did build a cult following thanks to its engrossing script that is filled with drama, scandal, and interesting clues that get more vivid with every match.
Things were equally dramatic and interesting (maybe not for Garfield) behind the scenes, as Keough almost poisoned Garfield to death.
The film includes a kissing scene and ahead of its filming, The Lodge actress was getting ready (and eating a granola bar) in her trailer when the makeup artist questioned if the bar contained peanuts. Keough’s unsure response to the question led to panic as the makeup artist quickly informed a producer. She recalled the whole episode to Variety:
“It was actually very stressful. The producer came in and was like, ‘Riley, Andrew’s very allergic to peanuts and we have to shut the set down. And they shouldn’t have been at craft, and I don’t know why they’re on set.’ I was just kind of like, ‘Oh f***, that’s crazy.’ But also thank God that this woman caught it, because I had no idea.”
Fortunately, the make-up artist’s awareness ensured the Spider-Man star didn’t suffer any allergic reaction, and things returned to normal after a brief shutdown.
Riley Keough Sheds Light on a Dispute With Her Grandmother Priscilla Presley
As mentioned before, Keough frequently finds herself on surreal journeys – whether she’s in front of the camera or behind.
The brilliant Daisy Jones & The Six star is set to feature in Vanity Fair’s cover story for their September issue. During the interview, she reflected on the battle over the estate of her mother Lisa Marie Presley that saw her become the sole trustee of the estate.
As per PEOPLE, she will give her grandmother Priscilla Presley a $1 million lump-sum payment “as part of a previous settlement reached by the pair.”
But in the same interview, she insisted the situation of her relationship with Priscilla Presley “will be happy” despite a bit of upheaval. She also credited her grandmother for playing a huge part in creating the iconic Presley legacy and Graceland.
