Ant-Man Star Paul Rudd’s Wife Was “Stupefied” after Watching Him Defeat Michael B. Jordan, Idris Elba and Dwayne Johnson
In his career spanning more than three decades, Paul Rudd has starred in numerous TV shows and movies. He is most recognized for his portrayal of the Marvel superhero Scott Lang/Ant-Man. He played the role for the first time in the 2015 film Ant-Man and has reprised the role in several MCU movies since then.
Paul Rudd is a father, a husband, an actor, and a comedian but what people might not know is that he is also one of the s*xiest men alive. The People magazine named him the ‘S*xiest Man Alive’ in 2021. Out of all the things that he has been labeled as before, this is the most shocking one even for the actor himself. He once recounted his wife’s reaction.
Paul Rudd’s Wife’s Reaction To Him Winning The Title
Every year, millions of people look forward to People magazine’s yearly special issues such as the World’s Most Beautiful, S*xiest Man Alive, and Best and Worst Dressed. Between 1985 and this year, many men have snagged the title of being the s*xiest man of the year. Interestingly, the most recent recipient of this title is also a Marvel star, namely Chris Evans.
Paul Rudd revealed that his wife Julie Yaeger was the first person to have received the news about his new title ahead of the magazine announcing it publicly. While talking to People, he recounted his wife’s hilarious reaction to the news, saying:
“She was stupefied. But you know she was very sweet about it. After some giggling and shock, she said ‘Oh, they got it right.’ And that was very sweet. She was probably not telling the truth, but what’s she going to say?”
Despite being a world-famous celebrity, the Living With Yourself actor insisted that he felt the happiest when he spent time with Yaeger, his wife of nineteen years, and their two kids, Jack and Darby.
Paul Rudd Was Expecting To Get A Hard Time From His Friends
The Wet Hot American Summer actor’s wife might have let him go just like that but he was sure that his friends would not do the same. Given that the actor beat some of the most good-looking people in the industry, it would only be fair that his friends tease him a little about it.
In his interview with People, Paul Rudd said that he would do the same if one of his friends had won the title. He said:
“Oh, every single person I know is going to give me so much grief. As they should. I would. I mean I’m going to lean into it hard. I’m going to own this. I’m not going to try to be like ‘Oh, I’m so modest.’ I’m getting business cards made. But all of my friends will destroy me and I expect them to. And that’s why they’re my friends.”
That being said, Rudd was also expecting his life to have some drastic changes such as getting invited to dinners with the likes of Michael B. Jordan, George Clooney, and Brad Pitt. He also expressed his excitement about yachting more.
