In an Interview Anthony Mackie reveals what’s exactly it is to carry the Captain America Shield

In an interview with Deadline, Mackie was asked what exactly it’s like to carry such an iconic symbol around with him. “You know what, to be honest, it’s very emotional,” he replied. “I’ve been in the business for 20 years and I’ve been fortunate enough to do some amazing stuff and work with amazing people. “It’s been extremely emotional,” Mackie continued. “Look, my grandfather was a sharecropper, you know what I mean? There’s a lot of history and pain and triumph and joy that comes along with me being Captain America.”

Mackie made his MCU debut as Sam Wilson/Falcon in the 2014 film Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He subsequently reprised his role in Avengers: Age of UltronAnt-ManCaptain America: Civil WarAvengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
