Aquaman 2 Post Credit Scenes Sparks Massive Fan Outrage as Jason Momoa’s Latest Movie Will Officially End Zack Snyder’s DCEU
Aquaman 2, or Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, is one of the most highly anticipated DC movies of recent times. Its predecessor pulled in a staggering $1.152 billion, which made it not only the highest-grossing DCEU movie but also the highest-grossing film based on a DC Comics character. Obviously, this kind of success comes with a lot of expectations. James Wan took his sweet time to build Aquaman 2 since 2019, which would conclude the DCEU saga or the Snyderverse for good.
The fans are days away from the release of Aquaman 2. The movie had a fan screening on December 18, and although the coast is clear of any major spoilers, one thing that came out was the news of a certain post-credit scene in the movie, and the audiences are not having it.
Aquaman 2 has a post-credit scene and fans are not too keen on it
Warner Bros. held a special world premiere event for Aquaman 2 on Monday, December 18, at The Grove in Los Angeles, California, and although no major spoiler about the upcoming movie is out yet, there is news of a post-credit scene in the movie. DC is going through some major changes with James Gun and Peter Safran taking the helm. They mean to revamp and reboot the existing DC, which means saying farewell to the old Snyderverse. However, despite that, all the major DC films this year, like Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Black Adam, and The Flash, featured post-credit scenes.
Many thought Aquaman 2 would take a different road since it would officially be the end of an era. However, according to GOAT Movie Podcast’s Angel Amaral’s tweet, Aquaman 2 has one post-credit scene, which will also serve as the last one in DCEU.
Fans are far from happy about this whole thing. While many were struggling to find the point of including a post-credit scene in the last movie of DCEU, a few joked and said that it better be an apology letter from DC. Check out some of the fan reactions below.
just tell us. it’s not like it even matters anymore

It better be an apology from the studio for wasting everybody's time

When the movie was in its initial stage, a post-credit scene was planned where Batman and Aquaman would be seen engaged in a deep discussion about something or someone trying to poison the ocean. It was meant to set up a further plotline for the titular hero. According to ComicBookMovie, there was a dilemma about whether Ben Affleck would show up in the movie or Michael Keaton. Originally, the scene was shot with Michael Keaton and later reshot with Affleck. However, Gunn and Safran did not want audiences’ hopes up regarding any future movies, and with the establishment of the new DC, the idea of that post-credit scene was scrapped.
What is there in the post-credit scene of Aquaman 2?
The post-credit scene of the movie is rather inconsequential, as per the reports from ComicBookMovie. The scene shows Patrick Wilson’s Orm eating a burger while he sees a cockroach. He picks it up and eats it, which is a nod to an earlier gag in the movie.
Given the reaction around it, one would think that the world turned upside down in the post-credit scene. However, it is rather tame when one thinks of its impact on the upcoming DC. It rather feels like a good old homage to Aquaman before it bids its final goodbye.
Aquaman 2 is all set to release on December 22, 2023.
