“It’s not serious”: Did Johnny Depp Break Up With His Girlfriend After Humiliating Trial Against Amber Heard?
Shortly after Johnny Depp’s trial with Amber Heard, the actor, and attorney Joelle Rich started dating. Many had thought that there might be a spark between Depp and his attorney Rich from the start of the actor’s trial against his ex-wife, and it turned out that there was. She attended a portion of the six-week trial, which ended in June, despite not being a member of the legal team that defended Depp in his Virginia defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard.
While smoking outside the Fairfax County Circuit Courthouse, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor was spotted with Rich. Fans believed that Camille Vasquez, one of his US attorneys, and the Edward Scissorhands actor were covertly dating despite her visible presence during the highly publicized defamation trial. She soon put an end to the rumors, however, by labeling the claims to be “s*xist” and “unethical.”
Are Johnny Depp and Joelle Rich Still Together?
Although it was reportedly an open relationship, the two started dating. There was no exclusivity because the actor was not ready to date at the time. A few months later, it appears like everything is over.
A source told PEOPLE back in September that the actor, 59, and the London attorney were “dating, but it’s not serious.”
Even though their relationship wasn’t exclusive, the two have reportedly broken up. Depp was not in his finest mood, as a friend of the actor recently informed the British media.
Rich was a member of Johny Depp‘s legal team during his unsuccessful libel case against The Sun in November 2020. He filed a lawsuit against the UK publication for labeling him a “wife-beater,” but the court found the allegations to be “substantially true” and his ex-wife Amber Heard gave testimony in support of the publication’s assertions. His effort to overturn the judgment was rejected in March 2021.
“I care very deeply about my clients, and we have obviously become close,” she told People in June. “But when I say ‘we,’ I mean the entire team, and of course that includes Johnny.”
Rich was nonetheless present for some of the Virginia hearings to offer support in the courtroom, even though she wasn’t an official representative throughout the trial. Last year, on May 2, she was seen grinning as she followed the actor, and the following day, she was seen gazing at something on his phone as they had a break outside the courtroom. On May 16, Rich gave Camille Vasquez, Depp’s lawyer, a warm embrace inside the courtroom. On May 19, Rich was spotted leaving the building with Depp and his staff.

Joelle Rich – A Successful London Lawyer
Rich attended North London Collegiate School and the University of Birmingham, according to her LinkedIn profile. According to Fox Bangor, she also enrolled at BPP Law School in 2006 to take electives in media and entertainment as well as a legal practice course.
Rich, a lawyer at the London law firm Schillings, is well-known in her field. According to the corporate website, Schillings is a U.K.-based business that assists famous people in safeguarding their reputations and privacy.
“With over a decade of experience in media law, Joelle is able to astutely identify risks to clients’ privacy and reputation, devising effective strategies to safeguard them,” her company profile stated.

Along with Depp, she also defended Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, in 2021 when she sued the British publication Mail on Sunday.
Rich abandoned her two children and her husband to assist Johnny Depp during his American legal proceedings.
