Taylor Swift is sparking engagement rumors surrounding her six-year relationship with actor Joe Alwyn by dropping her latest album “Midnights,” which dropped on Friday. The Grammy artist sings about her boyfriend on several tracks, including the opening track “Lavender Haze.” Earlier also, the artist teased the track on her Instagram handle and shared that she first learned of the phrase lavender haze while watching the TV series Mad Men.
Rumors started more circulating when she revealed that Lavender Haze was specifically inspired by her relationship with Alwyn. Fans know that she always refers to something in her songs and it’s nothing new. Previously also she teamed up with an enemy’s ex-wife and helped the other woman during the divorce. There is lots of speculation she’s referencing Kanye West’s divorce from Kim Kardashian or Scooter Braun’s split with Yael Cohen.

Talking about her relationship with Joe Alwyn, she said at the time, “Like my relationship for six years, we’ve had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff and we just ignore it. And so this song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff.” She also partnered up with him and William Bowery, to write the song “Sweet Nothing.” The pop star knows that everyone is waiting for the news of whether or not she’s engaged to her boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn, and on her latest album, Midnights, and surprisingly she’s finally addressing the matter but not in the way we may have wanted.

The pop superstar shared that the latest album was specifically inspired by her relationship with Joe Alwyn. She said:
“We’ve had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff, and we just ignore it, and so this song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff.”
In the album, she seemingly gives insight into her emotional state during the early days of their romance by adding in the chorus, “I thought the plane was going down/ How’d you turn it right around?” She later seems to allude to a trip that the couple took to Ireland. “I spy with my little, tired eye / Tiny as a firefly a pebble that we picked up last July / Down deep inside your pocket we almost forgot it / Does it ever miss Wicklow sometimes?” And finally, the final track on Midnights sees Taylor Swift admit to being a “Mastermind” in her relationship. Her album brings a perfect tone that peeks into her love story and life with Joe Alwyn.
