Selena Gomez is officially the queen of Instagram as she’s now the only actor to pass 400 million followers on the social media platform. But that isn’t the only interesting bit, fans are rejoicing because she beat Hailey Bieber who is currently standing at 49.3 million after constantly losing her followers for bullying Selena Gomez. For people living under a rock, the internet cannot seem to go past the drama between Haily Beiber, Justin Bieber, and Selena Gomez. Throughout the years it has progressed to new heights rather than blowing over.
As time progressed, people suspect that the mean girl trifecta of Hollywood– Kylie Jenner, Hailey Beiber, and Kendall Jenner are constantly bulling the singer online.
Selena Gomez passes 400M followers on Instagram
Months after returning from a brief social media hiatus, Selena Gomez passed the 400 million milestone on Instagram on March 17. This further proved at the internet is undivided and is on “Team Selena” when it comes to choosing their sides on the ongoing debate. She surpassed Kylie Jenner a month back, who is also part of the mean girls of Hollywood and has been bullying the former Disney star. And now she is among the only three who have surpassed this mark, the other two being Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
But this app hasn’t always been good to her. She has been subjected to fat shaming and bullying constantly on the platform. This was the very reason she took a break from the social media platform in the first place. The actor and singer said to Instyle in 2022,
“At one point Instagram became my whole world, and it was really dangerous. In my early 20s, I felt like I wasn’t pretty enough. There was a whole period in my life when I thought I needed makeup and never wanted to be seen without it,”
She is now back and is the perfect role model to hold this title. Gomez’s example is the perfect one to remind people it isn’t all about the gram. She also encourages people to take a much-needed break in order to see clearly. She said,
“Taking a break from social media was the best decision that I’ve ever made for my mental health—The unnecessary hate and comparisons went away once I put my phone down. I’ll have moments where that weird feeling will come back, but now I have a much better relationship with myself”
Gomez’s post was a selfie with the caption, “Violet chemistry,” which was in support of Miley Cyrus’ new album.

Hailey Bieber had 50.7 M followers when this whole ordeal started, but now as time passes, she keeps on losing thousand each second. She currently stands at 49.3M. That means she has lost a million followers already.
