Chris Rock hits back at Will Smith in his new Netflix special
Months after the two Hollywood celebrities’ jaw-dropping Oscar Academy incident, Chris Rock is back to take a dig at Will Smith in his style. Everyone had been waiting for this moment for months since the Hitch movie actor’s Oscar night smackdown with the comedian on the Academy stage left the live audience in shock.
While social media users called the incident scripted and found it funny as thousands of memes flooded Twitter about the incident, in reality it was rather more shocking, as Will Smith was offended by Rock’s joke about his wife, which made him so angry that he decided to slap the comedian in front of everyone, and no, it was not a part of any joke.
The moment has come when Chris Rock is spilling so many details and is ready to take down Jada Pinkett Smith and her husband, Will Smith. Did Rock just share too much out of months-long suppressed anger by acknowledging too much about the actor?
Chris Rock Reveals Why He Did Nothing When Will Smith Slapped Him
After many debates and Will Smith’s repeated attempts to apologize to Chris Rock for his rude behavior at the Academy Award ceremony, the comedian just released his new Netflix project, Chris Rock: Selective Outrage, and it seems like he answered pretty much every question his fans and media outlets have asked him in the last few months, which he clearly avoided.
Sharing how he felt when the I Am Legend movie actor smacked him, he told his Baltimore Hippodrome Theatre audience,
“A lot of people go, Chris; how come you didn’t do anything back? How come you didn’t do anything back that night?”
He continued,
“Because I got parents, that’s why. Because I was raised, and you know what my parents taught me? Don’t fight in front of white people.”
Chris Rock even praised the actor, saying,
“I loved Will Smith. My whole life, I loved Will Smith. I saw him open up for Run-D.M.C. He makes great movies. I have rooted for Will Smith my whole life,” Rock said. And now I watch Emancipation just to see him get whooped.”
