“Because they were fu*king with me”: Harrison Ford Wanted to Change His Name to Kurt Affair After He Was Warned About His Pretentious Name

Over the years, Hollywood has seen a lot of iconic names like Clint Eastwood, Keanu Reeves, Tom Cruise, and many more. However, time and again actors have been suggested to change their names to climb up the ladder of success. One such incident occurred with Star Wars actor Harrison Ford. Talking about this in an interview, Ford revealed that in the early days of his acting career, he wanted to take up the name Kurt Affair.

Harrison Ford Was Advised to Change His Name

Recalling his early days of acting, Harrison Ford opened up about his struggle of being a contract actor. In an interview with GQ Magazine, Ford said that back then the world was very different as they worked as contract actors. Further recalling one of the incidents, Ford revealed that one time at work he was given a picture of Elvis Presley and asked to get the same haircut as he had in the picture.

Although before sending him off the executive told Ford that he should change his name. Talking about this in an interview with GQ Magazine, Ford said “They said, ‘Harrison Ford is not a good name for you. It sounds, I don’t know, pretentious.’”  Further, he said that just to mess with them he came up with one of the stupidest names, which was Kurt Affair.

While Ford had no plan of changing his name, he said he only suggested that name to get on their nerves. Talking about this Ford said “I was just fu*king with them. Because they were fu*king with me.”

Further talking about his strong opinion on not changing his name, Ford said that he grew up in Chicago, Midwest, and that is how he was raised.

Harrison Ford is All Set to Join the Marvel Cinematic Universe

After his departure as Indiana Jones, Ford is now set to embark on a new journey with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reports have been around that Ford will now be seen playing the role of Thaddeus Ross a character that was once played by William Hurt.

This character was previously seen in different MCU movies like The Incredible Hulk and Captain America: Civil War. With Ford taking on the mantle, it has been reported that the character will now have a much larger role to play in the future of the series. Ford’s first appearance as Thaddeus Ross will be seen in the upcoming movie Captain America: Brave New World.
