I Used To Work Weekends And Nights: Said Chris Pratt

When Chris Pratt (AKA Star-Lord) was just starting out his career, he had to take odd jobs. He told The Graham Norton Show that one of the first places he worked was as a waiter for restaurants on the weekends. During an interview about Passengers when Pratt was being interviewed by Graham Norton, he said that he spent his early 20s waiting tables and bouncing at a very famous Los Angeles restaurant. He added:

When you’re in Hollywood or in other places, you need a job that gives you days free so you can try to audition for projects. So I would work weekends and nights.

I had no money. No one was coming to the restaurant so I wasn’t making any tips. I’d make, like, $20 or $30 bucks a day, maybe. So it was really a place I’d go to eat. That kitchen fed me for the time I was there. I’ve been busted so many times eating off people’s plates that they were like, ‘You have to stop doing that! It’s really, really bad.

He Has Been Street Smart Throughout, And Kind

When he was just starting out as a waiter, someone asked Chris Pratt to bring them a doggie bag. The customer wanted the leftovers for her dog. Chris replied that the leftovers had been thrown into the trash. But when she said it was fine, he came up with a plan and it impressed that lady. Chris asked the chef to whip a fresh meal. She ended up becoming too happy and before leaving gave him an extra-large tip – because he took care of her doggie.
