Ben Stiller played the character of a dimwitted supermodel in his own directorial venture Zoolander. The actor wore all the hats for the comedy-drama as he starred, wrote, produced, and directed the 2001 released Zoolander. The plot of the movie revolves around a supermodel Derek Zoolander played by Ben Stiller whose career goes on a downward trend as model Hansel portrayed by Owen Wilson takes on to the media limelight.

Recently, All Elite Wrestling’s professional wrestler Kris Statlander deviated from the attention of the actor with her Zoolander-inspired attire. The American wrestler took to X, previously known as Twitter, and tagged actor Ben Stiller in a post where she was seen wearing a Zoolander-style-in-ring-gear.

The character of Derek Zoolander was inspired by Calvin Klein models Johny Zander and Mark Vanderloo and the movie name Zoolander came from Russell Bates-directed Fashion Awards skit. The movie was met with a mixed reception by the audience which directly imapacted it’s box office collection as it could gross $60.8 million against the budget of $28 million.
Ben Stiller On Why He Loves To Work With His Zoolander Co-star Owen Wilson
The rapport between Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller needs no description. The actor duo have collaborated for multiple projects. Ben Stiller loves working with Owen Wilson. During an interview with the reputed media platform, The Hollywood Reporter in 2001, Ben Stiller spoke about his Zoolander co-star who played the character of rival supermodel Hansel. He said-
“Owen was the most important casting to me because I think he is one of the funniest people around — and the part was written for him … He’s a friend of mine and we’ve worked together a number of times.”
He further added-
“We love working together. From when we first became friends, walking around New York, I think that we are still sort of laughing at the same things and our dynamic is pretty similar.”
