Action movies have a high number of viewers, right? No matter what, it’s a genre that can incorporate every other genre and still remain its individuality. However, sometimes, the movies fall short even when they’re good. Such movies are simply underrated and are called great after many years when people finally get it. Today, we will talk about some of the best, underrated movies of the 2010s. Check it out!
1. Dredd
The movie wasn’t all that appealing to many viewers but it has developed itself a nice fan following over the years. The premise is pretty direct which included two futuristic cops on the bottom of an apartment complex that is closed to the outside world. They have to catch a bad guy who’s on the top floor. Karl Urban proves his skills once again.
2. Edge of Tomorrow
Tom Cruise is the poster boy for action movies. Edge of Tomorrow is along the same lines with some fast-paced action sequences with a touch of humour. What really excels in the movie are the plot twists. Without a doubt, the movie has now become a cult classic.
3. Man From U.N.C.L.E.
The movie is based on a show from the ’60s and the film’s setting is post-WWII. It retains its goofy charm. However, the movie might not blow you away with its action sequences. But the way scenes are blended with each other is pretty amazing. Totally worth a watch. Henry Cavill as it again!
4. The Nice Guys
Shane Black is known for action-based movies and The Nice Guys easily stands out as one of his best films. It’s a buddy cop film and the weird dynamic of Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe is highly entertaining. Even though you can predict the action sequences, one thing you can’t predict is its off-the-hook humour.
5. Upgrade
What happens when a famous horror movie director tries his hands on an action film? You get Upgrade. Director Leigh Whannell is known best for writing and starring in the first Saw film and even though the said movie has some high-end action, it has a lot of gore. Regardless, the movie is good.
6. 13 Assassins
As the name suggests, the movie is about a group of assassins who come together to get rid of a warlord who is not really merciful. They do this by turning the whole city into a booby trap, wiping out almost 200 men in the process.
7. Atomic Blonde
Atomic Blonde is basically John Wick with a female lead. Of course, the comparison sounds a little stale because Charlize Theron does a great job of setting a particular tone. But the director remains the same. While she shows off her acting skills, she maintains her cool personality and doesn’t lose her aura. One of the many reasons why not many people doubt her acting abilities.
