Following Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, there have been a lot of anticipations and speculations regarding who would become Chadwick Boseman’s successor in the upcoming movies. After Boseman’s death, the spot was left vacant until Marvel and Disney took care of it by portraying Wakanda mourning for T’Challa’s on-screen death, and Shuri (Letitia Wright) taking over the empire. However, now MCU might want to bring T’Challa back into the franchise.
As per recent rumors, Marvel is searching for an actor to portray T’Challa. Though there has been no confirmation, a few names have been surfacing all over the internet. Nobody can replace Boseman’s legacy with what he had done with the character in the first movie and Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Those are quite big shoes to fill, but among all the names, people were excited to see Aldis Hodge as Black Panther. But probably that is not happening and there’s a reason.

Chadwick Boseman‘s demise due to colon cancer was incredibly tragic not only for his family but also for the film fraternity. Wakanda Forever definitely did justice to his legacy by honoring him and letting everyone mourn and heal from the incident. While Shuri (Letitia Wright) took over the mantle in the sequel, during the post-credits scene, the audience learned about T’Challa’s secret son.
In the ending sequence, the fallen king’s son introduced himself as Toussaint and we got to know they share the name T’Challa. It seemed like Marvel already had tried to ensure that his son would inherit his father’s kingdom, giving the franchise a new T’Challa. Now, as per recent reports, Aldis Hodge was in the talks to suit up as the news Black Panther.
Hodge, who is popularly known for portraying roles in DC’s Black Adam and Cross, would have been a perfect fit to play another superhero character. The actor even talked about his desire to play the character in one of the interviews surfacing on the internet. He said,
I want the fans to know that the one role I really want to play is Black Panther. I grew up loving the Marvel world, and grew up on martial arts. I still train, when Black Panther came around, he was almost like an African American Batman.
Hodge has quite a few qualities to become T’Challa.
