Blake Lively’s Trainer Revealed Her Fitness Secrets
Blake Lively‘s longtime personal trainer, Don Saladino, has revealed how she maintains her incredibly toned figure. He insisted that getting the right amount of sleep is the key to weight loss instead of restricting carbs or monitoring your calorie intake.
Saladino is a gym trainer in New York, who has coached the 35-year-old actress for more than 10 years, recently told E! News that you don’t have to “starve yourself” to lose weight.
He argued that developing healthy habits like getting enough sleep at night, consuming large amounts of water, and exercising frequently is the key to getting in shape.
The fitness fanatic further claimed to have worked with a variety of other celebrities, including Lively’s husband Ryan Reynolds, Sebastian Stan, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Cindy Crawford. He also alleged to have witnessed one client lose nine pounds in three weeks by simply sleeping an “extra 90 minutes each night”.
He told the publication that it is a free fat burner and that you ought to get between “seven and nine hours of sleep” every night.
Don Saladino Warned Against Strict Diets
The fitness expert, Don Saladino also advised against following strict diets, explaining that they frequently leave people feeling “ravenous”, which can lead to binge eating and other unhealthy tendencies.
“Stop living in a caloric deficit. Calories are energy, so if you get into a car and you gas up a car, a car is going to drive until it runs out of gas or until you pull over.”
The trainer advised walking “everywhere” as a simple way to fit exercise into your schedule, adding that even people who work desk jobs can easily get their steps in.
“Walk to work in the morning, walk home from work, after all three of your meals, walk for 30 minutes, just do something.”
Saladino even advised giving up alcohol, which he referred to as a “toxic substance”.
“I have people who get off alcohol and in one month they’re like, ‘Oh my God, I didn’t change anything else and I lost 12 pounds’.”
By saying that “consistency” is more important than “intensity“, he warned against overworking during workouts.
He said, “The goal [of workout] should be to leave [the gym] better than you felt before you came in,” and that if your muscles are sore you probably have overworked yourself.
According to what he revealed to Women’s Health last year, Blake Lively performs a variety of exercises while working out with him, including push-ups, dumbbell deadlifts, flat dumbbell presses, goblet squats, and bent-over dumbbell rows.
Moreover, Lively gushed about Saladino in an Instagram post she posted in 2018 when she revealed he had helped her lose the 61 pounds she had gained during pregnancy in just 14 months.
