Blue Beetle Earns Rare Distinction of Having Lowest Ever Box Office Preview for a Superhero Movie in 2023
The year that has proven a disaster for Disney and all of its franchises including DC Comics on the big screen the release of Blue Beetle has not been much of help. If anything, the release of this movie has only raised eyebrows as the earning of Blue Beetle on its very opening has earned the dubious honor of having the lowest Thursday night preview. This shock comes right after the saddening earning of the other films DC like Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash.

Blue Beetle is having the lowest-ever box office preview
The release of Blue Beetle, yesterday the 18th of August has brought in yet another disappointment for the DC universe as the movie has earned the title of having the lowest box office preview for a superhero movie in 2023.
As per the reports Blue Beetle starring the Latino stars Xolo Mariduena earned only $3.3 million on Thursday night previews at the box office. The movie is said to be lower than the earning of Shazam! Fury of the Gods reportedly earned around $3.4 million.
Although as per the reports it is expected that this new release of DC will likely make at least $28 to $32 million which is similar to that of the opening of Shazam! Fury of the Gods. As the budgets of both movies were pretty much the same, they’re expected to perform similarly at the box office.
Mid-Credits Tease: Blue Beetle is still said to unveil a potential future for DC Universe
Spoiler Alter– Even though Blue Beetle has not proven to be a promising opening, the film still stands to boast its individuality among the DC Universe which is also hinting at an expansion of the mythos.
Similar names like Batman, Superman, and cities such as Gotham City and Metropolis have been mentioned in this new release, despite of this the movie still maintains its individuality. The mid-credits scene unveils a tantalizing future for the Blue Beetle storyline.
As protagonist Jaime Reyes’ which is played by Xolo Mariduena gets control of the Blue Beetle suit and the demise of Victoria Kord’s malevolent ambitions, Jenny’s presumed-deceased father, Ted Kord, makes an unexpected visit, setting the scene for mystery. Ted Kord, the previous Blue Beetle, who is significant in comics legend, and his prospective comeback presents fascinating potential as the story unfolds.
Also, James Gunn’s comment on Jaime Reyes’ place in the developing DC Universe and the future Booster Gold TV series contributes to the excitement. Booster Gold’s relationship with Ted Kord’s Blue Beetle, in which they frequently collaborated in the comic as well as led a separate series, implies possible crossover or cameos in the series.
