Brace Yourselves Horror Fans – Final Destination 6 Gets Exciting New Update
Great news for Final Destination fans, the pinnacle of horror, is making a comeback. The franchise’s last installment was on the silver screen twelve years ago. It really has taken far too long. This release has been long overdue and the news was met with great excitement from fans. As the completion of the movie is confirmed, it is yet to be seen when can the release be expected.
In an interview, the franchise creator Jeffery Reddick talked about the making of the newest film and plans for its release.
Final Destination 6 in the Theaters: When?
The word is that Final Destination 6 is ready to be released. Reddick revealed in an interview that the film is “ready to go”. The only obstacle in the way is the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes which have halted the entire entertainment industry. The end of these strikes does not seem near and can affect the release date accordingly.
Reddick gushed about the movie saying:
“There is a sixth one that’s planned the minute, again, the AMPTP comes back to the table, that movie is ready to go. It’s just nice as a genre fan to have something created that has become a part of the public zeitgeist.”
Written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, the film follows the reliable formula of writing horror but with a twist.
Final Destination 6 does not Follow the Same Formula as its Predecessors
The franchise’s success can be attributed to the fact that the fear-causing factor or the antagonist is not some physical entity but a manifestation of death itself. The first five Final Destination movies have a track record of guaranteed fear, thrill, and entertainment among horror fans.
The franchise by now has a proven formula for its script. The plot usually follows a varied group of people where one of them has a premonition of their impending death. This premonition initially makes them escape death but the Grim Reaper eventually gets them. But the newest installment takes a risk and tweaks the proven blueprint a few degrees.
Franchise creator Reddick refuses to say too much but he couldn’t refrain from giving a slight peak into the film:
“I will say that it’s not just going to be another kind of ‘we set up a group of people, they cheat death, and then just death gets them,’ and there’s one wrinkle that we kind of added to every movie to kind of like change it up a little bit: this one is… a true Final Destination movie, but it doesn’t follow that kind of formula that we’ve kind of established… I think I can say that much.”
