During an interview with Good Morning America, Room performer revealed that The Marvels would dig deeper into the character of Captain Marvel and highlight the imperfections of the hero. She explained,

“The first one was the origin story of who she is. Now it’s digging into some of the complexities. That there is much more to her than that, that there are parts that are not so great about her. That we can see a hero as being a person that doesn’t make every right decision all the time.”

The sequel, which follows the events of the post-credits scene from the Ms. Marvel series, will see the trio of stars come together again as a team for the first time under the direction of Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury.

The Fast X artist also shared information about her upcoming projects for Disney+. She will be starring in a short film called Remembering, which explores the power of imagination, and a docu-series titled Growing Up, following young adults aged between 18 to 22 years old and their coming-of-age experiences. MCU actress shared,

“I am so lucky that I get to play pretend with my job,” she continued,

“The fact that I’m an actor came from me being a small child and saying it to my mom. I feel like sitting here on this couch talking about these projects is honoring this inner child inside of me. I have a very vivid interior world and it’s something that I’ve cultivated and is very special to me,”
