Despite what went down between Kevin Federline and his ex-wife Britney Spears’ father Jamie Spears, they are reportedly on speaking terms with each other. The two men went through a rough patch when the singer’s father was accused of abusing one of his grandsons. Federline had to obtain a restraining order against his ex-father-in-law.
In a recent interview, Jamie Spears opened up that he missed his two grandsons deeply as the order had prevented him from meeting them for three years. Now it has been reported that Federline is venturing to author a book on “fatherhood”, six years after his divorce from the Sometimes singer. And according to reports, his ex-father-in-law has actually agreed to help him on the journey.
Kevin Federline Will be Writing a Book on Fatherhood
After separating from ex-wife Britney Spears in 2016, Kevin Federline has decided to write a book on fatherhood. He shares two teen sons with Spears named Preston and Jayden. According to the Daily Mail, Journalist Daphne Barak has reported that Federline has decided to write a book on his experience with fatherhood. And quite surprisingly, his ex-father-in-law Jamie Spears has “agreed to help” him with the book.
Dents in their relationship appeared after the Toxic singer’s father allegedly abused his grandson Preston. However, things seem to have taken a turn. Recently it was revealed by Barak that they were, “now speaking to each other once again”. Federline was a part of the Spears family for a long time. Plus, the fact that both men are fathers likely provided the two a common ground to get over past issues.
Jamie Spears Abuse Allegations
Back in 2019, Britney Spears’ father Jamie Spears faced allegations of abuse against his teenage grandson. This resulted in the Toxic singer’s ex-husband Kevin Federline obtaining a restraining order against him. And since then, the Princess of pop’s father has not been able to meet his two grandsons (Preston 17, and Jayden 16). Contrary to the allegations, Jamie Spears revealed his deep love for the two boys in a recent interview. He opened up by saying, “I miss my two boys really, really bad. I do”. He also shared his sorrow saying, “It’s been a tough three years without them.”
However, it is not the only time an abuse allegation has come up in the Spears family. The pop singer’s 13-year-long conservatorship under her father came to a halt after she accused her father of abuse. He was also reported by the pop star for controlling her personal and financial affairs.
Despite the allegations, Jamie Spears defended himself saying his actions were only done to protect his daughter and the family. He also mentioned, “All I can say is that most people don’t have a clue what the truth is.” And further he described his family as a “mess” and denied the allegations against him.
