‘Captain America 4’ is Not the First Marvel Production To Have Harrison Ford in the Lead Cast
Indiana Jones actor Harrison Ford is regarded as one of the finest actors in the industry. His talent, which is celebrated and appreciated across the world, will soon be seen in Captain America 4. Being a part of movies that have grossed more than $9.3 billion worldwide makes him the seventh-highest-grossing actor in North America.
Ford’s character of Indiana Jones is one of the iconic characters that audiences love to see him play on-screen. He has also portrayed the legendary character of Han Solo in the epic space opera Star Wars for four sequels. Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was adapted for Marvel Comics
Harrison Ford will be seen in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Captain America 4 as Thaddeus Ross. He will make his appearance alongside Anthony Mackie who portrays Sam Wilson and is now the new Captain America. But this is not the first time Ford will be a part of Marvel’s project as back in the day his 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was also adapted as a Marvel Comic.
David Michelinie, Jackson Guice, Ian Akin, Brian Garvey, and Bob Camp adapted the movie by LucasFilm and Paramount Pictures, which was directed by Steven Spielberg. The comic book titled Marvel Super Special 30 was published on 5th June 1984. Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz based the movie on the script of a story by George Lucas.
Just like the movie, Marvel Comic also depicted Indiana Jones and his sidekick Short Round and singer Willie Scott battling a death cult in India. The comic book was adapted into three issue-limited series. Fans who had watched the movie also appreciated the adaptation of the movie into a three-part limited series comic book.
Harrison Ford talks about Captain America: Brave New World
The veteran actor who will be appearing alongside Anthony Mackie in the highly awaited Captain America 4 recently spoke about the challenging schedule he had while filming. In an interview with Esquire, he said,
“Yeah. I mean, there are tough days, and easy days and fun days and all kinds of days. It’s a tough schedule and yeah, it’s fun. But it’s not walk in the park. It’s not fun fun. It’s work.”
Kevin Feige mentioned that Ford’s character of Thaddeus Ross who was previously portrayed by the late William Hurt, will be now be the President of the New World Order. According to Digital Spy, Feige said,
“With Harrison, you think about Air Force One, and you think about some of his confrontation with the president in Clear and Present Danger. There’s a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson. They have a history together, but in this movie, we’ll be seeing the dynamic between Captain America and the president of the United States in a way that is just incredible.”
Captain America: Brave New World is directed by Julius Onah and is co-written by Malcolm Spellman who is also the creator of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It is going to be the fourth installment in the Captain America series and a continuation of the television miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Captain America: Brave New World is scheduled for release on 14th Feb 2025.
