Robert Pattinson’s “Mania of Insecurity” Haunts DC Actor Before Every Film, Claims To Get Riddled By Nightmares
Robert Pattinson is one of the most proficient actors of his generation. From fantasy roles like Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga to more serious roles like Constantine Nikas in Good Time and Neil in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, he has progressively gotten better with each new challenge thrown his way.
Despite all the praise he has gotten over the years, Robert Pattinson has repeatedly claimed that he has insecurities regarding his performances. Although this might come as a shock to many, this also depicts his humble nature as he does not shy away from being honest. One of the occasions that serves as proof of his humility is the revelation he made nearly four years ago.
Robert Pattinson Revealed What Haunts Him Before Every Film
No one is perfect. Insecurity is something that nearly every person has; the only difference is that some are good at concealing it and others are not. While concealing it can save people from getting manipulated or mocked, it also lessens the chances of it ever getting resolved.
Robert Pattinson has always been the type of person who is not afraid of judgment so he speaks his mind. For instance, his admission of not a fan of his role as Edward Cullen even though that was the role that gained him worldwide recognition. Obviously, this revelation broke a lot of hearts and brought in a lot of criticism, but the Remember Me actor refused to back down.
In an interview for IndieWire Awards Spotlight, Pattinson made another revelation, saying:
“I just always start with start every movie with that kind of mania of insecurity and I just thought that God if anyone sees what I’m doing before I’m doing before I’m actually shooting them so it’s terrified of getting fired through nightmares every night.”
Robert Pattinson’s Biggest Fear as An Actor
Robert Pattinson might have spent years in Hollywood as a professional actor. However, this has done nothing to quell certain fears of his as an actor, and he is not ashamed of admitting it as well. This is despite the possibility that some of his his fans and co-workers might view the comments as a sign of weakness.
While speaking to Jordan Firstman for Interview magazine, Pattinson said:
“I have a deep, deep fear of humiliation. And also, you sort of know it’s down to you. You can say it’s a shitty script or the director’s a dick or blah, blah, blah, but at the end of the day, no one’s going to care about the reasons. You’re the one who everyone’s going to say is lame. And the vast majority of people will say you’re lame even when you tried your best.”
The Water for Elephants actor’s fear seems legitimate considering the cancel culture that is prevalent on social media. So, it is probably for the best that he avoids being on any form of social media whatsoever.
