Chris Hemsworth Fears He Would Leave “A Pile of Rubbish Movies” Behind After His Death: “Not what I care about”
Chris Hemsworth had a candid interview with GQ magazine, and he shared some of his innermost thoughts about life in general, his acting journey till now, the highs and lows of his life, his bond with his family, his grandparents, childhood memories with his brother, about his love for surfing and numerous other things.
He talked about surfing for hours and said that he always loved surfing as it is one of those few things that hold his attention completely. Regarding his experience of surfing, he added,
“There’s a cleansing every time I get in the water. If I’m having some sort of inner conflict or turmoil, it’s the one place I go. There’s a feeling of starting again.”
Important Milestones In Chris Hemsworth’s Acting Career
Chris Hemsworth is an Australian actor who rose to prominence because of his role as Kim Hyde in the Australian television series Home and Away. This was even before he began his acting career in Hollywood. Hemsworth’s MCU journey started in 2011 with Thor and in 2022 he again played the character of Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Some of his best works include Star Trek, Snow White and the Huntsman, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, Red Dawn, Blackhat, Extraction, A Perfect Getaway, and Men in Black: International. He has earned critical appreciation for The Cabin in the Woods, and Rush.
He was recently seen as Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder, and also played the role in billion-dollar projects like the third and fourth Avengers films, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. All of them were a huge commercial success and established Hemsworth as one of the highest-paid actors.
Chris Hemsworth shares how he wants to be remembered after his death
During a recent interview with GQ magazine UK, Chris Hemsworth shared many insights from his childhood to his professional and personal career to current times. While talking Hemsworth said that “We’re getting to the age now where we’re going to start losing people we love.” Soon after this, he shared that recently he lost his grandfather, Martin who has 93 and had Alzheimer’s. While working on the film Limitless, Hemsworth learned that he had two copies of the gene APOE4, and was eight to twelve times at a higher risk of acquiring the disease. All these incidents made him reflect upon his life and how he wants to be remembered after his death. Hemsworth then admits,
“It made me think about my own life. And it wasn’t about career or anything. It was about being remembered as someone who was good and kind and contributed something of value… I certainly don’t think about the films I’m going to leave behind and how people are going to remember me in that sense. I hope that people think of me fondly and that I was a good person. That I was a good bloke. Like my grandpa.”
Growing up, the Hemsworth brothers have memories of spending many afternoons at their grandparents’ house while their parents were off to work. He also shared some more memories of his grandfather, what kind of man he was, and their good times. Next followed his reflection on passing time and he explains how everything has importance now.
“Because of the realization that this isn’t going to last forever.” That includes work. I don’t want to leave a pile of rubbish behind,” Hemsworth says. “And I’m aware that there’s a few misses there.”
He also shares some moments from his personal life about his wife and kids and life’s journey till now.
