Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction 3 Officially in the Works
Chris Hemsworth is one of the most gifted actors in Hollywood. His role in the MCU has made him a household name. The actor has been associated with Marvel Cinematic Universe for decades. He played the famous role of Thor in the franchise. He also had a wide-ranging portfolio, which backed his acting prowess. With the actor’s good looks and charm, he has become a fan favorite after Thor.
Hemsworth has been part of Marvel for the past ten years. Apart from appearing in the franchise’s ensemble movies, the Aussie actor has four standalone in the Thor franchise. Along with his popular Marvel role, the Australian actor has also been a part of other movies like- Men In Black, The Cabin In The Woods, Extraction, The Hunstman, and many more. His Extraction franchise recently released a new film, Extraction 2, and Netflix confirmed expanding the franchise with Extraction 3.
Netflix green lights Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction 3
Although Chris Hemsworth rose to fame after playing Thor in Marvel Cinematic Universe, his other roles are loved by fans equally. The actor became part of Extraction, an action genre power-packed film. The first movie starring Hemsworth in the lead was released in April 2020. It instantly caught fans’ attention as the Thor star played the lead role of Tyler Rake.
During Netflix’s TUDUM event, the Australian actor and director Sam Hargrave confirmed the news of Extraction 3. The actor and Hargrave attended the event in honor of the new addition to the franchise Extraction 2. The sequel to Extraction dropped on Netflix on June 16, receiving a strong critical response with a 74 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The first film, which premiered on Netflix in 2020, became the biggest original movie premiere on the streaming service at the time.
The actor during the event said,
“I know we’ve only just release Extraction 2, but is anyone interested in seeing more of Tyler Rake in the future? Well guess what, because between us, between us friends, we’re already talking about Extraction 3 thanks to the response.”
While Extraction 2 is already doing great on the streaming giant, the announcement of another film in the action franchise has excited fans.

Chris Hemsworth’s role in the Extraction franchise
Chris Hemsworth plays the extremely competent black operations mercenary Tyler Rake in the action franchise. The first film Extraction was adapted from the comic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks by the Russo brothers. In the first film, Tyler attempts to rescue the kid of an Indian criminal lord on a mission that nearly ends in his death.
The second installment in the franchise sees Hemsworth’s character Tyler after recovering from his prior mission, decide to take on a new, riskier job that involves saving the family of a well-known Georgian mobster named Zurab, played by Tornike Gogrichiani.
Joe Russo returned for Extraction 2 as the sole writer. Extraction 2 saw the return of the main cast with the Thor actor, including Golshifeh Farahani as Nik Khan and Adam Bessa as Yaz Khan.
Extraction and Extraction 2 are available to stream on Netflix.
