The engagement announcement on Instagram in early 2019 was met with excitement from fans, who eagerly anticipated the couple’s upcoming marriage. The couple married following the engagement in 2019.
The Guardian of the Galaxy artist shared with the media,
“We met at church. It was a lot of kismet and a lot of connections, but that was where we met.”
Pratt later admitted that he felt “so grateful” to have found a lifelong partner in Schwarzenegger. He told Entertainment Tonight in August 2019.
“Aww, man, I’m lucky. God is good. I feel really good, really blessed. Everything is great.”
The Onward performer has often credited their chance encounter at church for bringing them together, but sources close to the couple suggest that it was Schwarzenegger’s mother, Maria Shriver, who played matchmaker. The source said, “They’re dating. It’s new. They’re really into each other.”
Further, the author told the media, “I’m a big communicator,” and continued saying,
“I got married last June, and just communication constantly is, like, really the most amazing gift you can have, I think, in a partnership and a relationship. … I don’t like to go to bed angry. And we both are the same way.”
