Christian Bale Refuses to Return as Batman So Fans Cast The Boys Star as DCU’s Dark Knight
English actor Christian Bale has been in the show business since he was a young kid. At the mere age of 13, he was cast in Steven Spielberg’s coming-of-age war drama Empire of the Sun. Not only did he stand out amidst 4,000 other kids but also managed to speak with an upper-class tone without the help of a dialogue coach. His knack for complex roles could be seen as he gave a bone-chilling performance in American Psycho.
Christian Bale’s marvelous acting skills landed him the role of the lead protagonist in The Dark Knight trilogy, Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of the DC comic book superhero Batman. The last movie of this trilogy was released in 2008. With Bale refusing to put on the iconic Batman suit again, fans have found another actor who might do justice to the caped crusader’s legacy.

Fans Have An Idea For the Casting of The Batman
Fan castings are not a new thing. Sometimes they are even the most accurate ones. However, the ultimate power lies in the hands of the production houses and the filmmakers who try to cast the best that they can get based on certain factors.
Over the decades, the role of Batman has been played by many great actors such as Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and the latest one- Robert Pattinson. However, with James Gunn and Peter Safran rebooting DC, the need for a new Batman has arisen. A fan on X (formerly Twitter) asked for the opinions of other fans about The Boys star Jensen Ackles getting cast as Batman.

Ackles is not a stranger to the superhero as he voiced the animated version of Batman. So, while he would have an upper hand on the character owing to his familiarity with it, the actor being in his late 40s might affect the decisions of the makers.
Christian Bale Refused To Return as Batman
Christian Bale nailed the role of the American billionaire Bruce Wayne and his costumed counterpart. There is no denying that he is one of the best Batman to date. However, unlike many other actors who have been asked to return to play their iconic characters, Bale has not been asked to do so yet.
When ComicBook asked the Ford v Ferrari star about it, he said:
“No, no, nobody reaches out to me, or they keep me like a mushroom, keep me in the dark and feed me sh*t. But for me, that would be a matter of Chris Nolan. If he ever decided to do it again, and if he chose to come my way again, then yeah I would consider it. Because that was always our pact between each other. We said we would only ever make three, and then I said to myself that I’d only ever make it with Chris.”
Christian Bale is right about taking his stand against returning as Batman with a different director considering how there are numerous instances of projects getting jeopardized just because the studio hired a new director for a perfectly moving franchise.
