It is not every year that the Inception director makes a movie, but when he does, he certainly ensures that the product is nothing short of phenomenal. The A-list cast that is sure to appear in his films only adds to the excitement. According to recent reports, Zendaya and Anne Hathaway will also join the star cast of Nolan’s next film.

Christopher Nolan is regarded as one of the leading directors in Hollywood. He gained international recognition with the success of his 2000 psychological thriller, Memento. So far, he has made only about a dozen films including The Dark Knight trilogy, and all of them are regarded as cinematic masterpieces regardless of their commercial performance.

Last month, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Nolan’s next film will star Tom Holland and Matt Damon. Although there has been no official announcement regarding this, it has been reported that The Prestige director has written the script and will be directing it. While this marks Damon’s third film with Nolan after Oppenheimer and Interstellar, it will be Holland’s first collaboration with the esteemed filmmaker.
Recently, Deadline has reported that Zendaya and Anne Hathaway will also be joining the cast. This will not only be the Dune star’s first collaboration with Nolan but also her first film alongside Spider-Man co-star and real-life boyfriend, Tom Holland outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
On the other hand, much like Damon, this would be Hathaway’s third film with Nolan as she has previously appeared in The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar. None of these casting reports have been officially announced by Universal yet so fans will have to keep their fingers crossed in hopes of all these stars coming together for the movie.
What Else Do We Know about Christopher Nolan’s Next Venture?
The details of the upcoming movie are kept under tight wraps despite some reports claiming to know the logline and description. This is Nolan’s second movie at Universal Studios with whom he joined hands after severing his ties with longtime home Warner Bros. in 2020.
He is reportedly producing this film alongside his wife and producing partner Emma Thomas for their Syncopy banner. The studio has reportedly scheduled the movie’s release on July 17, 2026. This release date aligns with the release dates of several other movies of Nolan such as The Dark Knight Rises (released on July 20, 2012), Tenet (released on July 17, 2020), and even Oppenheimer (released on July 21, 2023).
