Clint Eastwood’s Hatred for Coca-Cola won’t rest even after 43 years
The feud between Clint Eastwood and Coca-Cola started long back in the 1980s when the production of the movie ‘The Karate Kid’ was in process. During the casting of the movie, a lot of film stars were waiting to get the role but ultimately Ralph Macchio secured his position as the lead role of Daniel LaRusso in the movie. Among the stars who were waiting to get on board with this project was none other than Kyle Eastwood the son of Clint Eastwood. His rejection sowed the seed of rivalry between Eastwood and Coca-Cola.

At that time Coca-Cola was the owner of Columbia Picture, who owned the movie that was being produced. Clint Eastwood took the issue of his son’s rejection and imposed a veto on Coca-Cola. Ever since then none of Eastwood’s movies featured any Coca-Cola products, in fact, he also went ahead to partner up with Pepsi the direct competitor of Coca-cola.
Even though Coca-Cola sold Columbia Pictures in 1989, Eastwood upheld his ban on the brand throughout his career and up until today.
