The songstress had been involved in an on-off relationship with her ex-beau until they eventually put an end to it in 2019. During the same time, the duo attended the red carpet together and something different was observed in their behavior.

Before their split became the news in 2019, the duo hit the red carpet together in April to attend the premiere of the movie Avengers: Endgame. Their moment of that time completely went viral as the actress pretended to lick her then-beau in front of photographers, which visibly annoyed Liam Hemsworth.
While one cannot hear the actual words of the Australian actor, he appeared to be shrugging off his ex-wife by stating,

While the singer did not make a scene back there, she appeared to be annoyed by his statement. While nothing is clear about what exactly happened between the duo, a body expert has something to say about this viral moment.
Body Expert, Patti Wood Shares Her Insight on The Viral Moment
Body Language expert Patti Wood in an interview with Elite Daily analyzed the viral moment that happened between the duo and clarified that his statement has indeed put Cyrus in a bad mood.
“His body language hinted at embarrassment and admonishment of her, and his response really upset her.”
Back then when the video went public, many fans shared their concerns about the duo’s relationship, especially the moment in which the actor gave a stiff response to his then-wife to behave properly.
Though, the expert pointed out that her pose was “highly sexualized and unusual,” his former spouse was more surprised.
“When she does it, his mouth opens in shock.”
She further added that his reaction after the moment was discomfort and annoyance. After he utters the sentence, it upsets the singer. However, what was more dramatic in that whole scenario as per the expert was when Hemsworth walked away. After the awkward encounter with his then-wife, he distanced himself from her as if “his body language is saying, ‘I don’t want any part of this.’”
Fans also noticed that the Bad Karma singer shouted “This is me” while looking at Hemsworth which could be her way of responding to his actions.
The duo announced their separation in August 2019 with The Hunger Games actor filing for divorce the same month. They officially finalize their divorce in 2020.
