Daniel Radcliffe is “Grateful” for Working With Michael Gambon after Harry Potter Legend’s Death Shook Wizarding World Fans
English actor Daniel Radcliffe stepped into the Hollywood entertainment industry at the age of eleven. He is one of the most famous actors in the world, thanks to his portrayal of Harry Potter aka The Boy Who Lived. Despite having no connection with reality whatsoever, Harry Potter movies continue to be popular among both children and adults.
Based on J. K. Rowling’s novel series of the same name, Harry Potter is one of the most beloved movie franchises to have ever existed. Recently, Michael Gambon who played the character of Albus Dumbledore in the series passed away, leaving behind a giant void in the hearts of not only his co-stars but also millions of fans.
Daniel Radcliffe Feels Lucky to Have Worked With Michael Gambon
The Harry Potter movies have a star-studded cast as it features Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Helena Bonham Carter, and countless other actors who have put in their best efforts to bring forth an evergreen piece of entertainment that would be remembered for decades.
After the tragic demise of Richard Harris who was initially cast as the headmaster of Hogwarts Albus Dumbledore, Michael Gambon took over the role. The first movie that he appeared in as Dumbledore was the third in the series, Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban. He continued to reprise the role in 4 more movies.
As reported by his family, on Thursday, Gambon passed away in the hospital where he was admitted after a bout of pneumonia. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daniel Radcliffe expressed how lucky he felt about having gotten the chance to work with the Irish actor, saying: “I’m so sad to hear he has passed, but I am so grateful for the fact that I am one of the lucky people who got to work with him.”

Michael Gambon’s contributions to Hollywood are appreciable. He was one of the original members of the Royal National Theatre and had won numerous accolades including three Olivier Awards. In his career spanning more than six decades, he acted in movies and shows of a variety of genres.
Daniel Radcliffe Paid A Heartfelt Tribute To Michael Gambon
Apart from expressing his gratitude about being lucky enough to work with Michael Gambon, Daniel Radcliffe also gave a heartful tribute to the actor. The statement given to The Hollywood Reporter read:
“He was silly, irreverent and hilarious. He loved his job, but never seemed defined by it. He was an incredible story and joke teller, and his habit of blurring the lines of fact and fiction when talking to journalists meant that he was also one of the most entertaining people with whom you could ever wish to do a press junket.”
The Weird Al star’s statement also mentioned how the most important thing that he will miss about Gambon was how fun-loving he was. Several other Harry Potter stars including Emma Watson and Rupert Grint also paid tribute to the late veteran actor who will always be remembered for the iconic roles he played in his lifetime.
