David Corenswet recently took on a role in the disaster movie Twisters, directed by Lee Isaac Chung. The Juilliard-trained actor has been stirring up conversation on social media, where everyone’s talking about how unrecognizable he looks in the film. One X user summed it up, writing, “David Corenswet’s character in Twister is such a d*ck.” Check out some fan reactions:

He plays Scott, a member of a crew chasing tornadoes. Scott seems to be more interested in the moneymaking side of things than the thrill of the chase. This comes as a shock to many, especially with the recent leaks of Corenswet in the upcoming Superman film.

Despite his dark side in Twisters, director Lee Isaac Chung sees a different side to David Corenswet. Chung told Inside Total Film Podcast about the star’s audition for Superman, revealing, “We were all really secretly rooting for him.”  He continued, praising his “imposing presence” and “genuine purity” — qualities that perfectly embody Superman.

Chung even shared a story about Corenswet’s commitment to the role. Apparently, even after auditioning for Superman, the actor continued to exude a Superman-like presence on the set of Twisters. “He came back to set and he was still carrying himself that Superman to us,” the filmmaker said. This dedication convinced Chung that Corenswet had the right stuff for Superman.

With his impressive performance in Twisters and the upcoming Superman film, David Corenswet is quickly becoming a household name. Even director Lee Isaac Chung is confident that Hollywood’s newest star will “kill it” as Superman, and fans can’t wait to see him in this iconic role.
